Based upon the latest The Walking Dead spoilers, Daryl Dixon’s death is probably not going to be happening any time soon. Some fans believed it was possible the new AMC show Ride With Norman Reedus meant Daryl has to die during TWD Season 6 in order to give the actor some breathing room. The producers decided to respond to these The Walking Dead rumors, which should see an end to them — or not, since AMC has been known to misdirect the fans.
In a related report by the Inquisitr , a real-life zombie virus may seem like it belongs only in fiction, but the United States Department of Defense is currently sinking money into researching virus bioweapon defenses now that making a deadly artificial virus is feasible. While no one is talking – yet – about starting a zombie apocalypse , the scientific progress has reached the point that it’s becoming a possibility.
Speaking of possibilities, it seems like some characters are bullet proof in the TV show, but to a certain extent you always have to wonder who is going to die next. One of the most infamous The Walking Dead spoilers articles in 2015 claimed that if Daryl Dixon dies, it’s because Norman Reedus’ TV show would keep him too busy to fend off zombies.
“[P]remiering a show that headlines Reedus completely separate from The Walking Dead makes one wonder if the network may finally be working up the courage to take Dixon out of the equation,” wrote Cinema Blend . “Having Reedus in a new series could serve to ease the blow on those who tune in weekly to specifically see his character.”
There were other The Walking Dead rumors which also seemingly pointed toward Daryl dying. When an actor or actress’ character dies in the TV series, they often change up their housing situation. In the case of Reedus, it was rumored earlier in 2015 that Reedus was trying to sell a house in Atlanta , so fans assumed Daryl’s death was imminent.
Although Reedus did not comment on the fans’ long-term theories about Daryl, he did shoot down the basic idea.
“That’s not even my house,” Reedus said. “It’s a rumor.”

These type of TWD rumors tend to fester, so when executive producer Greg Nicotero spoke to Comic Book he addressed whether Ride With Norman Reedus was even slightly related to their future plans for Daryl Dixon .
“That show is something [Reedus] shot a promo for before we even started shooting. I saw that that was announced and he’s like ‘Oh, man! Now everyone’s gonna think that you guys don’t want me on the show anymore!’” Nicotero explained. “No. It’s completely different. We have lots of our actors that go off and do different things in between. He did a movie last year that Robert Kirkman and Dave Alpert produced. That didn’t mean he wasn’t coming back, a lot of people just assume that.”
This does not mean that Daryl won’t ever die. The TV show is quickly catching up to the Saviors story arc in the graphic novels. It is largely believed that AMC is working toward finding a suitable actor to play Negan. Assuming this is the case, someone is going to die by Lucille, a frightening baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire. While the character that died in the comic version was Glenn, some believe it is possible Daryl could be the substitute.
As noted, the producers love to misdirect the TWD fans. A great way to end the Walking Dead Season 6 finale would be to have everyone on their knees before Negan. If they really wanted to heighten the tension, the producers could make it seem like a favorite character like Daryl is about to feel Negan’s wrath. Even if Daryl does not die, and Norman Reedus continues to play a role in the series for many seasons, this scene is probably an opportunity to ensure the premiere for TWD Season 7 has a very large audience indeed.
