McDonald’s Manager Wasn’t ‘Lovin’ This Drunk Customer, So He Gave Him A ‘Combo’ That Wasn’t On The Menu

A Minneapolis McDonald’s manager provided a customer with a “combo” from a secret menu. When the customer arrived at the drive-thru window, things escalated quickly.

According to WCCO-Minneapolis, the incident took place during the early morning of Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at the restaurant’s branch on Stinson Boulevard, where 22-year-old Bernard Robinson, the manager, found himself in a fight for his life.

Before fists started flying, Robinson mentioned that the customer attempted to pay for a $3 meal with a $100 bill. However, while Bernard was getting the man, 31-year-old Medhat Feshir, his change, he became irate, spat on, and attacked Robinson, the source reports.

Bernard was wearing a black shirt and tie. However, the tie was almost his downfall. Yet it was also the push he needed to physically confront the customer. Robinson said that the man was using his tie as a method to choke him. At one point, the McDonald’s employee mentioned that he thought he was going to black out from Feshir’s stranglehold. Bernard had to act or else he would’ve been pulled out the window.

As Josh McConouhey — the cameraman — mentioned, if nothing had been done in that regard, the customer would’ve pulled Robinson out of the drive-thru window and onto his face.

In the video, Bernard connected several blows to the customer’s head and face. However, since the man was inebriated, the punches didn’t slow down Medhat by much.

Nevertheless, the manager wasn’t handling the irate customer alone for long. The cameraman mentioned that the two didn’t stop after the video footage was over. According to Josh, that was only half of the incident. During the second portion, while Medhat was trying to instigate the manager further, other customers came out to help subdue the man.

It was a citizen’s arrest until police arrived on the scene. The cameraman said that Feshir ended up on his back within the crowd of people. His head would lift up at times “but his body would fall back down.”

Likewise, cameraman Josh said that — throughout the whole ordeal — Feshir was drunk and “talking a lot of junk,” according to Syracuse Media Group.

Once authorities arrived on the scene, they arrested the man and charged him with fifth-degree assault. A Minnesota law firm, McKee and Associates, states that fifth-degree assault is a serious crime. In these types of incidents, time plays a crucial factor.

Minnesota Statue 609.224 quotes as follows.

“Fifth Degree Assault is far and away the most common assault charge. It may be charged as a Misdemeanor, Gross Misdemeanor or Felony. Minnesota Statute 609.224, Subdivision 1 explains Fifth Degree Misdemeanor Assault:

“‘Whoever does any of the following commits an assault and is guilty of a misdemeanor: (1) commits an act with intent to cause fear in another of immediate bodily harm or death; or (2) intentionally inflicts or attempts to inflict bodily harm upon another.'”

According to the source, the maximum penalty for such an offense in Minnesota is “90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine, or both,” unless the judge gave him the felony version of the sentence rather than the misdemeanor. Felony fifth-degree assault is punishable by a maximum of five years imprisonment and a $10,000 fine, or both.
