‘A Lot Of Blood’: Michelle Duggar Heard Comforting Jessa Seewald In 911 Call After Home Birth [Audio]

Jessa Seewald gave birth to her first child yesterday, and it wasn’t exactly as the family had planned. The Duggar daughter had a home birth, but experienced complications following the birth of her nine pound, 11 ounce baby boy. Though the baby was in perfect health, Jessa experienced heavy bleeding in the aftermath of the birth and needed a medical evaluation. Jessa’s mother, Michelle Duggar, made the 911 call and can be heard on the call attempting to comfort Jessa as she questioned what was happening.

The Inquisitr previously reported that on the night of Jessa Seewald’s first birth, ambulances and fire trucks were seen outside of the Duggar home. Therefore, many had speculated that the delivery of her new little boy didn’t go as smoothly as she had hoped. Initially the Duggars opted not to tell fans that Jessa was hospitalized after the birth and instead simply noted that both mother and baby were “doing great.” They posted photos of baby Seewald swaddled in a brown towel inside of the Duggar home.

However, shortly after noting that Jessa was “doing great,” the Daily Mail reported that Michelle Duggar called 911 after Jessa experienced “heavy” bleeding after her home birth. The publication obtained a copy of the 911 call which featured Michelle speaking to the 911 operator. She noted that there was “a lot of blood” and that “we need her to be checked out.” The 911 operator then begins to ask a few questions about the situation. The full 911 call can be heard below up until the point that fire department arrives on the scene.

In the call, the 911 operator asks Michelle Duggar if the mother is still bleeding. Michelle notes that Jessa has stopped bleeding and that her uterus is hard. However, she notes again that there was “quite a bit of blood when the placenta detached.”

“There was quite a bit of blood when the placenta detached, but uterus is hard now.”

As the conversation continues, Jessa can be heard asking questions in the background as Michelle comforts her. Michelle explains to Jessa that they are massaging her uterus and appears to be by her daughter’s side as she makes the call. She tells the dispatcher that Jessa is doing better now but that there is “just a lot of blood.”

“No, she’s better now, just a lot of blood. She’s talking. Her color is good.”

Michelle has given birth to 19 children; therefore, it is safe to say that if Michelle felt there was a lot of blood in the aftermath of the birth, it was likely much more than usual. In fact, Jessa appears unusually pale and drained in the first official family photo of Jessa with the new baby.

The photo is slightly odd as it appears the family is posing in front of a white sheet or drop cloth. It is likely that Jessa was still in the hospital when the photo was taken and she did not want the hospital machines and bed in the first family photograph. Regardless of the background, Jessa does appear slightly pale and definitely running on low energy.

Fortunately, it appears that Jessa’s midwife was able to assess the situation and called for help in time. The Duggars continued with their statement that Jessa is still doing well and it appears that everyone is happy and healthy. Now Duggar fans will have to wait patiently as the Seewalds decide when they are going to share their next big news. Jessa decided to keep the gender of her baby secret until birth. However, with the baby’s gender announced and birth drama revealed, it seems that the only thing left for the Seewalds to inform fans about is the baby’s name.

What do you think the Seewalds named their new little boy?
