‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 12 Spoilers — Meredith And Amelia Clash Over The Resident Who Killed McDreamy [Preview]

The last episode of Grey’s Anatomy was certainly a hard one for Meredith (Ellen Pompeo). Not only is Meredith still adjusting to all of the changes in her new life, but she also had to deal with old memories as she came face to face with the doctor that failed to save Derek’s (Patrick Dempsey) life at the end of last season. With that in mind, how will Meredith handle everything in the coming episode?

According to Christian Today, things aren’t going to get any better for Meredith. In fact, Penny (Samantha Sloyan), the doctor who was not good enough to save Derek, is not only Callies’ (Sara Ramirez) newest girlfriend, but she also a new resident at Grey Sloan Memorial.

To make matters even worse, Bailey (Chandra Wilson) has assigned Penny to work with Meredith as her new resident. While this is certainly going to be a difficult task for Meredith to deal with, Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) is also not reacting well to her sister’s work situation.

Apparently, Amelia is set to get in a major fight with Meredith because she is working with the same doctor that failed to save Derek’s life. Although Amelia is clearly mad at Meredith, she also doesn’t know that Bailey set up the assignment and that Meredith really doesn’t have a choice in the matter.

That being said, the preview clip for the episode, which was released by ABC on their YouTube account, reveals that Meredith does not start off with the greatest attitude towards her new work partner. This is understandable given all of the emotions that Meredith is clearly dealing with once again. However, despite a rough start, Meredith does manage to work through her feelings.

Meredith’s transformation towards Penny is definitely going to be something to look forward to in the coming episode. In particular, it should help Meredith come to terms with all the tragedy that has happened in her life as of late and help her move on with her life.

This is also likely one of the reasons why Bailey chose to partner the two up. That being said, it might take Amelia a little longer to work through her issues. This is true with both Penny and Meredith, as Amelia does not appear to handle the situation very well.

In fact, in the preview clip, Amelia is seen yelling at Meredith over her work with Penny. Apparently, Amelia believes that Meredith should have used her authority at the hospital to get Penny transferred out of Grey Sloan Memorial. Clearly, this is not something that Meredith is going to do, which will likely leave Amelia fuming for a good amount of time.

Whether or not Amelia works through her problems with Penny and Meredith are yet to be seen. Hopefully, she will take Meredith’s lead and start to deal with all of her emotions that are still lingering over her brother’s death. Given everything that is shown in the preview, this likely won’t happen anytime soon.

Meanwhile, according to Carter Matt, the episode will also feature a new patient at the hospital who is embroiled in a sex tape scandal. Given the drama that is present elsewhere in the episode, this should offer some comic relief, especially considering that the patient is a pastor and his sex tape was leaked to his entire congregation. At the same time, Richard deals with his relationship with Maggie, while April works with a Middle-Eastern boy.

Fans can watch all the drama unfold when the next episode of Grey’s Anatomy, “The Me Nobody Knows,” airs Thursday night on ABC, check out the preview below.
