Luke Bryan Reacts To News About Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani Relationship: ‘It Can’t Be True!’

Just hours after the news about Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s relationship was confirmed, one of Blake’s buddies was on the CMA red carpet ribbing Shelton about the relationship.

While speaking with Carissa Loethen of E! News, Luke Bryan said he simply couldn’t believe the relationship rumors about Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton were true — because Bryan doesn’t believe Blake Shelton is on Gwen Stefani’s level!

“He didn’t come out about that. You’re trying to trick me… alright I need to see online where Blake has stated that, and then I will comment on it. It can’t be true, because there’s no way Blake could ever score a girl like that. So it’s not true. I mean, come on people!”

Despite Luke Bryan’s disbelief over a Blake Shelton-Gwen Stefani pairing, it seems as if the long-rumored relationship has been confirmed as a reality. Before the CMA Awards on Wednesday, a representative for Stefani said that the Voice judges are, in fact, dating.

“Gwen and Blake are longtime friends who have very recently started dating,” Gwen’s rep told Us Weekly.

Rumors about a relationship between Gwen and Blake have hounded the internet since the summer, when both Gwen and Blake got divorced from their spouses. Gwen Stefani had been married to Gavin Rossdale for more than 13 years when they split in August. In July, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert split after four years of marriage.

Whispers about Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s relationship have been swirling across the internet ever since, but according to Hollywood Life, Gwen and Blake were forced to cop to the relationship after photos of the pair cuddling at fellow Voice judge Adam Levine’s Halloween party made their way into the news.

A source told Hollywood Life that Gwen is thrilled about her new relationship with Blake, saying, “She hasn’t felt this alive in years.”

“Gwen is so incredibly excited about Blake. She’s absolutely buzzing right now. She loves waking up every day and can’t wait to start working on the live shows with him. She has butterflies in her stomach and is totally on cloud nine.”

A recent interview given by Stefani would seem to echo the comments made by the Hollywood Life source.

While talking to Carson Daly on Monday, Stefani talked about how her life has changed since her split from Rossdale. As the Inquisitr reported, Stefani said that her “life basically blew up in her face” and initially, all she wanted to do was lie in bed and cry.

Since the initial days, though, Gwen’s life has changed, she said, and she’s now looking at the world through a new lens.

Stefani told Carson Daly, “My life basically blew up in my face and so I’m in this new life and it’s pretty awesome, I have to say. Everything just feels new. I just feel inspired. I don’t know how else to describe it.”

Shelton seemed to echo Stefani’s feelings. After the CMAs, he shared a tweet, saying that “so many great things happening in my life.” Could one of those great things be his new relationship with his co-judge?
