WWE News: Spoiler-Free ‘WWE NXT’ Preview For November 4 [Finn Balor vs. Apollo Crews]
Below is a spoiler-free match-by-match preview for this week’s episode of WWE NXT, airing Wednesday night, November 4.
When looking through WWE.com for their NXT preview for November 4, the only thing you’ll learn is that there’s a match set for the NXT Championship. Relative newcomer Apollo Crews will be challenging champion Finn Balor in the main event. WWE sums it up succinctly.
“This week on NXT, the undefeated Apollo Crews challenges Finn Bálor for the NXT Championship. Can the red-hot newcomer pull off his biggest victory yet? Find out Wednesday at 8/7 C, only on WWE Network!”
Thankfully, as noted by Bleacher Report, Eva Maria, Asuka, and Bull Dempsey help round out the rest of the card. The WWE & NXT Universe will be treated to four matches tonight.
- Finn Balor vs. Apollo Crews — NXT Championship Match. Since ditching the “Uhaa Nation” name and debuting on WWE NXT in August, Crews has been on a roll. He defeated Tyler Breeze at his NXT television debut (NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn) and hasn’t lost since. On the October 21 episode of WWE NXT, Crews won a 20-man battle royal to become the No. 1 contender for the NXT Championship. Finn Balor has been NXT Champion since taking the title from Kevin Owens at WWE’s The Beast in the East event in July. It’s rare that someone gets a title shot so quickly, even in NXT. And the title rarely changes hands if it isn’t a live special. While I don’t think Crews takes the belt tonight, I think we will see Apollo and Finn competing over the title again down the road.

- Eva Marie vs. Marley — Eva Marie has been absent from Full Sail Arena the last few weeks, but she hasn’t remained off of WWE NXT’s weekly programming. In Paris filming a vacation for an episode of Total Divas, the former fitness model has been sending snarky video messages to the NXT Universe. With a women’s division that really helped change the current state of things on the main roster, the NXT faithful weren’t impressed when Eva Marie told them she would be a regular. It’s been rumored for a long time that WWE has big plans for the embodiment of “All Red Everything,” and I don’t think there’s any reason to believe a virtual no-name like Marley has any chance tonight.
How thoughtful is @natalieevamarie?! She always has the #NXTUniverse on her mind. #WWENXThttps://t.co/t7dqQZgtm3

- Bull Dempsey vs. Angelo Dawkins — This will be a battle of two guys trying out some gimmicks that are rather comical. Bull Dempsey has been on his “Bull Fit” gimmick for a little while now. His look and in-ring style weren’t enough to get him over with even the Full Sail crowd, who tend to favor non-traditional wrestlers and cheesy gimmicks (i.e. Bo Dallas, The Ascension). Now that guys like William Regal and Tyler Breeze have started commenting on his physique and cardio, the shtick with Dempsey sneaking candy bars and showing mock work-out video packages have made him one of the NXT favorites. But that doesn’t mean he’s getting pushed to the top, and there’s no indication as to which way NXT is going with this filler match tonight.
- Asuka vs. Cameron — Perhaps more than the participants of tonight’s main event, Asuka had firmly established herself as a credible in-ring performer before ever setting foot in a ring owned by Vince McMahon. Previously known as “Kana,” Asuka was one of the biggest stars in Japan and felt that the WWE was the next logical step for her career. Her lack of English mastery may have been beneficial to her character, as she’s required to rely more on her in-ring skills and animated facial expressions. Cameron has been trying to re-establish herself since splitting from Naomi and trying to find a place for herself as the WWE’s Divas division experiences their revolution. Don’t expect Cameron to get a win unless Dana Brooke and Emma get involved.
WWE NXT airs live and on-demand tonight on the WWE Network at 8 p.m. EST. It can also be streamed on-demand the following morning with Hulu Plus.
