Derek Jeter Confirms Engagement To Model Hannah Davis
Looks like Derek Jeter has confirmed that he’s engaged to model Hannah Davis. The former Yankees player and Hannah Davis have been engaged for only a few days, and now Jeter has made it official.
Jeter subtly confirmed the news when he penned with the Players Tribune. The retired ball player acknowledged that he had a fiancée while talking about his dog Kane, an Italian Mastiff. He writes about his first time becoming a father to his dog after being scared by dogs his entire life (he blames the movie Cujo on his fear).
“I had no idea what I was in for as a new dog owner. He was a Christmas gift last year from my fiancée, whose family had Mastiffs growing up. I’ve never owned a pet in my life,” he said.

“I just wasn’t comfortable around animals. My family didn’t have pets when I was growing up and neither did my friends. During my playing career, I was on the road too often for the idea of owning a dog ever to be realistic. So all I had was my imagination — and when I thought of a dog, all I could think about was being attacked by a St. Bernard,” Jeter continued.
Although he had many doubts as a dog owner, Jeter writes that he and Kane are learning from each other every day.
“This month, he turns one, and now weighs over 100 pounds. But despite his size, he still tries to sit on my lap. Over the last year, the more we get used to each other, the calmer we’ve both become,” he said.

As for his life with fiancée Hannah Davis, Jeter hasn’t had much to say about it due to the privacy that he wants to maintain when it comes to his personal life. That said, Page Six did get a scoop via “good friends” of the couple. When the news of the engagement first hit, sources close to the couple said that Davis already had the ring and that her parents are thrilled about the engagement news because they love him.
Derek Jeter and Hannah Davis started dating in 2012, but didn’t go public with their relationship until this year. The two made their debut as a couple at the Met Gala back in May 2015. Jeter sported a crisp suit and Davis, a Sports Illustrated cover girl, wore a J. Mendel gown as they posed for pictures with smiles.
Their second appearance together was at the ESPY awards, where Jeter was honored with the Icon Award by known Red Sox fan and actor-director Ben Affleck.
The two were expected to appear together to promote Jeter’s feature in DuJour’s the Players Tribune, but when the engagement news broke shortly before the event, Jeter and Hannah decided to skip town, and Jeter was a no-show at the event.
Being in a high-profile relationship and dodging personal questions isn’t new to Jeter. Prior to his engagement to Davis, he’s been in relationships with Hollywood’s hottest women, including Mariah Carey, Minka Kelly, Jessica Biel, and Victoria’s Secret model Adriana Lima.
As for why he keeps his personal life private, Jeter opened up in an interview saying that once he opens the door on his private life, the interest and curiosity may never stop, and there’s no “closing” that door. Jeter said that he would much rather keep things special.
Despite that, it’s nice to get a rare glimpse into Derek’s life, even if it’s just about his fear of dogs.
