Did Robert Pattinson And FKA Twigs End Their Engagement Over His Struggle With Depression?

Despite having what many believed was a great relationship, Robert Pattinson and FKA Twigs have apparently cancelled their plans for a wedding. While there has been plenty of speculation as to why the two have decided to end their engagement, Pattinson’s battle with depression may be one reason for the couple’s split.

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Pattinson’s depression stems from his busy work schedule and his need to reignite his career in the film industry. Pattinson is no stranger to dealing with bouts of depression and even talked about the subject in a recent interview.

“I would love to go into therapy but it makes me too anxious. I’ve been talking to a lot of people about it and I don’t know,” Pattinson explained. “I kind of like my anxiety in a funny sort of way and I like my peaks and troughs. Luckily depression never lasts long with me.”

At the same time, both of their careers are starting to put a strain on the couple. For his part, Pattinson has been trying to expand his film career and has appeared in a number of indie film projects in the past year. Additionally, the Twilight alum is set to play a part in the upcoming film, The Lost City of Z, produced by Brad Pitt.

As far as Twigs is concerned, the British singer has been very busy with promotional tours that include magazine appearances and fashion shows. Furthermore, Twigs is also hard at work promoting her own musical career by mingling with other stars in the Hollywood scene. This is one reason why Twigs is currently residing in Pattinson’s home in the Hollywood Hills.

Taken altogether, the couple’s schedule and career aspirations are among the biggest reasons why the wedding has been cancelled. Furthermore, in addition to scheduling conflicts, the source added that Pattinson and Twigs have “drifted apart” in recent months as they continue to pursue their careers. That being said, they are reportedly still trying to keep their relationship strong despite the distance that has grown between them.

Meanwhile, in contrast to these reports, an inside source told Hollywood Life that Robert Pattinson and Twigs have not ended their relationship at all. Instead, their busy schedules have prevented them from finding an appropriate date on which to have their wedding, which has just been put on hold. As soon as a date opens up, the two are planning on officially tying the knot.

“Rob and Tahliah (FKA) have been having some challenges because of their busy schedules,” the insider told the outlet. “But they have not called off the wedding. Not at all.”

Apparently, the two have not even been able to plan a tentative date for the wedding because their schedules have grown so busy.

“It’s not on the top of their priority list right now and neither of them are in a rush to walk down the aisle,” the source continued. “They are both slammed with career obligations and when they do say their ‘I do’s’, it will be when they both have downtime.”

Although the two have put their wedding on hold, they are still apparently looking forward to celebrating the honeymoon.

“They are actually both looking forward to their honeymoon and that remains a topic of conversation of all the exotic places they can visit from the Maldives to a remote and romantic island in Japan called Honshu,” the source stated.

As for now, it isn’t clear when Pattinson and Twigs will find the time in their busy schedules for a wedding if they go through with one at all.
