Lamar Odom Miracle Update: No Dialysis, No Transplant Needed As Khloe Kardashian Romances James Harden, Then Returns

Lamar Odom has made a dramatic improvement that some describe as a miracle. With Khloe Kardashian by his side since he was rushed to a hospital after being found unconscious in a brothel following a reported drug overdose, Lamar has gradually been recovering. The latest update is that Odom has been able to go off dialysis, according to Us Weekly.

In contrast to all the reports that Lamar would require dialysis and a kidney transplant, Odom has been able to end his dialysis sessions and does not need a transplant, said an insider.

Lamar, 35, was once a strong, healthy NBA player. But following the 72-hour period in which Odom was in critical condition, he’s gradually been showing increased signs of improvement. At one point, however, reports broke that Lamar had kidney failure and had to spend six hours daily on dialysis. Claims circulated that Khloe’s brother Rob Kardashian had even volunteered to donate a kidney for the transplant reportedly needed by Odom.

But now all signs point to improvement for Lamar, said the source. Odom is walking, and Khloe is right there cheering him on.

It’s a dramatic difference from what Kardashian learned about the health of her estranged husband initially. Lamar had been discovered in a brothel in Nevada. He was unconscious, and then it took several days before he could even be flown safely in a helicopter from the Las Vegas hospital where he fought for his life to the world-famous Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, California.

“He is getting stronger…And [he] has a great team of therapists and specialists working with him,” said a source.

But the insider also revealed that because of Odom’s height and weight, helping the former sports star walk has been a challenge.

“He’s 6-foot-11 and weighs a lot, so getting him to walk a little has been really hard.”

Following 12 strokes, Lamar has problems with his mobility. To help him regain those skills, Odom resides in the hospital’s physical therapy unit. But determination plays a key role in recovery, and Lamar is fighting back to restore his health and well-being.

Amid that battle, Khloe gave herself some time away from the hospital and Odom for NBA star James Harden, Kardashian’s boyfriend. Harden was at the Houston Rockets game just as Khloe found herself the subject of criticism.

The negative feedback followed a magazine story that included Kardashian’s comments on Lamar.

“I want to make this VERY clear…. My people cover, I shot and interviewed for PRIOR to all the events that happened,” Khloe wrote on social media. “It was contracted press for my book that I wrote months and months ago. Timing is what it is.”

And time is Kardashian’s current challenge. Can Khloe maintain her relationship with James Harden while caring for her once-estranged husband Lamar? And what of the rumors that Odom and Kardashian might get back together?

“As of now, Khloe and Lamar are not romantically together,” claimed one insider. “Khloe and James are trying to stay in each other’s lives. Each day is something different, but they’re trying to see if they can still be together.”

But are Khloe and Odom even considering getting back together permanently, or is Kardashian staying true to James Harden?

One issue that remains: Divorce. Khloe had filed for divorce from Odom, but a judge never finalized the process, as the Inquisitr reported.

That made Kardashian legally responsible for for all of the health decisions that need to be made for Lamar during his health battles.

“Any medical decisions are up to Khloe,” said an insider.

That leaves Kardashian seeking to balance her romance with 26-year-old Harden and her responsibilities to Odom, according to the New York Daily News.

“Khloe does have a boyfriend. [She and James] have not broken up,” said a source about the 31-year-old reality TV star.

That was one reason that Kardashian made a point of going to her boyfriend’s game in Houston, finally leaving the hospital room in which Odom resided for an extended period of time. The insider revealed that Khloe and Harden want to continue their romance, while Kardashian doesn’t neglect the needs that Lamar has during his continued battle for health.

“She was with (Odom) 16 days straight and needed to dedicate some time and attention to James. But she’s going back to LA to be there for (Lamar) again,” added the insider.
