Ariana Grande Drops New Single ‘Focus’: Watch Official Music Video Here!

The wait for Ariana Grande’s new single, “Focus,” off her much-anticipated upcoming album, Moonlight, is over. Yep, Ariana Grande just tweeted Thursday that “Focus” is finally out in the wild, giving her fans much to celebrate about.

Back in September, Ariana announced that the new single, “Focus,” as well as the accompanying official music video, will be officially released on October 30. Grande has since then started a countdown that had her providing little teasers via her social media accounts for the last couple of weeks. As part of her countdown, specifically with 40 days to go until the single’s release, Ariana Grande published a teaser via an Instagram post (just one of many that were to follow).

Grande’s caption for the post went, “also 40 days til “focus” 🙊 this countdown is long af but it’s ok because our countdowns are one of my favorite parts about putting out new music!!! I get to have fun with my babes & the stuff y’all send me is effing hilarious so 🙊”

Four days before the day of the official release, Grande also teased the cover art for Moonlight on Instagram. Ariana sure is rockin’ that platinum white hair!

As reported by MTV, Ariana Grande’s new single, “Focus,” has been finished for some time now. According to Grande, the song was completed back in May 5, and since then was just waiting for the right time to release it to her fans. With 10 days to go until the new track’s release, Grande shared another Instagram post showing the finished manuscript for the song. The manuscript came with an accompanying note marking the exact date it was completed. ARiana’s caption went, “wtf is the date @awsuki?” so we finished #focus 5.5.15. we’ve been so patient & now it’s only 10 days away…. I. have. so. many. butterflies. #10daysTilFocus 🌙”

To say that the little teasers are building the anticipation for “Focus” is a massive understatement. Ariana’s teaser tweet below, posted four hours before the song’s official release, came with a GIF showing an excerpt from the music video.

Ariana Grande might be overdoing it with these teasers, but hey, it seems to have worked in her favor given the amount of “retweets” and “favorites” earned on Twitter. Also, the Twitter hashtag used to promote the “Focus” official music video – #FocusVideo – generated almost a million tweets at the time of this writing.

By the time Ariana Grande announced that “Focus” is already available on iTunes and Apple Music, the web just about exploded. As of this writing, the hashtag #BuyFocusoniTunes is the number one trending topic on Twitter, worldwide.

As one can tell, the official video for “Focus” is quite telling of the fact that Ariana means serious business. As mentioned, Ariana Grande is now rockin’ platinum white hair. And she sure knows how to flaunt it as she’s developed the knack for swinging it about, as seen in the official video.

Another thing worth noting about Ariana Grande’s “Focus” is that the song has a deeper meaning behind it than a superficial listen might suggest. The first line alone – “‘I know what I came to do and that ain’t gonna change.” – is loaded, and informs a lot of the deeper message the superstar pop singer wanted to convey through the new single. Ariana did a breakdown on the song’s meaning in an interview with MTV.com.

“What I came here to do in this world is not only to entertain but to love, to share, to listen, to improve, to learn, to share music, to share experience, to share feelings, to make people feel happy and empowered.

The more we focus on each other as people and not on what we look like, what we’re wearing, our gender, our hairstyle, our sexuality, the color of our skin. But focus on each other on a soul level. The more we realize how much we have in common, the more we listen to each other, the more one we become.”
