Derek Jeter Misses Appearance After Engagement News Hits
Retired Yankees short stop Derek Jeter bailed out of an upcoming appearance after details leaked about his engagement to longtime girlfriend Hannah Davis.
According to Page Six, Jeter was supposed to make an appearance at a party for DuJour magazine’s “Gamechanger” issue, with Brian Chesky and Katie Couric. It’s said that Jeter didn’t show up after reports of his engagement to Hannah Davis became public.
The outlet reports that Jeter showed DuJour inside of his Players’ Tribune offices for the upcoming issue of the magazine. Although he was expected to arrive in order to promote the issue, after his engagement news hit, Derek and Hannah decided to jet off.

Over the years Derek Jeter has been private about his love life, despite his very high-profiled relationships with some of the top people in entertainment, including Mariah Carey, Minka Kelly, Jessica Biel, and Victoria Secret model Adriana Lima.
It’s only been a year since Jeter retired from baseball, and now he’s finally decided to settle down. In earlier reports, sources close to Hannah Davis confirmed the news of their engagement to the New York Daily News, saying that, “she already has the ring. The family is very happy because they really like him.”

If Hannah looks familiar it’s because she graced the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition as a model back in 2015. Prior to that, she appeared in the magazine in back-to-back years in 2013 and 2014. As far as her recent covers, Davis was on the cover of GQ Mexico just last month.
As the Inquisitr reported, Derek and Hannah started their romance in 2012, and it became public knowledge when she was spotted that same year, cheering for the then-Yankees player at Chicago’s Wrigley Field.
It seemed like things were really heating up between the two when they were spotted hand-in-hand in June of 2014. The exciting occasion was for Jeter’s 40th birthday party, which took place at Catch Rooftop in the Meatpacking District in Manhattan. The celebration included Jeter’s teammates and their wives. After they partied, the couple cozied up at a nearby club.
The only rare public event that the two attended together was on the red carpet of the posh Met Gala event, back in May of 2015. The two dressed up for the evening, with Jeter wearing a crisp suit, and Davis in a red J. Mendel gown. Their relationship was cemented by the fact that they walked another red carpet together. The two attended the 2015 ESPYs together back in July, as Jeter was being honored with the Icon Award. Actor and famous Red Sox fan Ben Affleck was on hand to give him the award.
It shouldn’t be a surprise that Derek Jeter is settling down with Hannah Davis. Back in 2014, Jeter was interviewed by Brian Williams, and there was talk of starting a family.
“I have the utmost respect for these guys that are able to do it — you know, missing their kids’ birthdays and not being able to see them play tee ball or summer ball and missing a lot of time. So it’s another reason why I feel as though now’s the time. I mean, I want to have a family. Who knows when it’s gonna be? But I look forward to it.”
As for talking about who he was settling down with, Jeter wasn’t giving any hints.
“I think once you open that door and you share everything with everyone, there’s no closing it. You have to keep some things special. And for me, my private life is what I like to keep special.”
