‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 12 — Meredith Struggles While Working With The Doctor Who Killed McDreamy In Episode 6
The drama is set to escalate to new levels in the upcoming episode of Grey’s Anatomy. In particular, life is about to get difficult for Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), as she is forced to work with the doctor who was unable to save the life of her beloved husband, Derek (Patrick Dempsey).
According to TV Fanatic, Penny (Samantha Sloyan), who is also currently in a relationship with Callie (Sara Ramirez), is set to join the team at Grey Sloane Memorial. This means that not only will Meredith have a constant reminder of her husband’s passing whenever Callie is around, but she will also come face to face with her past tragedy at work.
In fact, not only will the interaction between Penny and Meredith become intensely awkward at times, but it will get a little confrontational. With that in mind, the preview clip for the upcoming episode features Meredith struggling to deal with the constant presence of Penny. Suffice it to say, it doesn’t look as though Meredith will be able to hold things together for very long.
In addition to Meredith’s woes with Penny, she will also have a hard time with Callie. According to Grey’s Anatomy producer Debbie Allen, the conflict between the doctors is one element of the upcoming episode that will surely keep fans on the edge of their seats.
“The audience is going to be riveted,” Allen told Entertainment Weekly. “I think our viewership is going to triple.”
Apparently, most of the rage and drama in the episode will center on the interactions between Meredith and Penny. According to the International Business Times, Meredith’s anger leads to plenty of shouting as she deals with Penny becoming her new resident.
“The perfect Penny killed my husband,” Meredith is seen stating in the video after finding out that Bailey (Chandra Wilson) has placed Penny under her watch.
“Is there any part of this job that you can handle?” Meredith screams at Penny later in the clip.
While most fans would agree that it is strange that Bailey would have Penny and Meredith working together, her true reasons for matching the two up have yet to be revealed. That being said, she had to have had some lesson in mind in pairing the two, though Meredith is clearly not taking kindly to the idea. Whether or not Meredith is able to pull herself together and come to terms with her new resident is clearly going to be a major plot point in the episode.
Meanwhile, the new installment of the hit medical drama will also feature a new patient at the hospital who is set to bring plenty of drama of his own. In fact, the patient apparently becomes the item of the day after his sex tape is sent to everyone by accident. Aside from the embarrassment of the situation, the sex tape is set to create quite the buzz around the hospital.
At the same time, some of the characters will also be dealing with their relationship troubles. This includes Richard (James Pickens, Jr.), who will be trying to find a way to improve his standing with Maggie (Kelly McCreary). Additionally, a friend from the past stops by the hospital and April (Sarah Drew) is set to deal with the case of a Middle Eastern boy. While the details concerning these plotlines have yet to be revealed, they are sure to add even more spice to this drama-filled episode.
Fans can watch the battle between Meredith and Penny unfold when the upcoming episode of Grey’s Anatomy, “The Me Nobody Knows,” hits television sets November 5 on ABC.
