Quentin Tarantino Is A ‘Limousine Liberal,’ Top Cop Declares [Video]
Film director Quentin Tarantino is being dismissed as a limousine liberal by outspoken Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, who also slammed President Obama for failing to come to grips, in his view, with the underlying issues involved in the interaction between cops and the black community.
In general, the term limousine liberal describes a rich, social justice advocate on the left of the political spectrum who uses his or her wealth as a form of insulation — such as living in a crime-free, gated enclave — from the very progressive policies being espoused for or imposed on everyone else. See the Urban Dictionary for a more detailed explanation. In the U.K., this kind of person is referred to as a “champagne socialist.”
Clarke was commenting on Tarantino’s participation in an anti-police brutality rally, the #RiseUpOctober march, in New York City over the weekend, a movement that apparently has similar goals to Black Lives Matter. Tarantino seemingly referred to cops as murderers during the march.
In horrible timing, the demonstration took place just a few days after NYPD officer Randolph Holder was tragically murdered in the line of duty while apprehending a robbery suspect.
For flying in from California to inject himself into the controversy over police shootings and conduct/misconduct, the police union in the Big Apple is now calling for a boycott of Tarantino’s upcoming new film, The Hateful Eight.
Tarantino has made his career and his millions through violent content in a series of popular, critically acclaimed movies that feature lots of gunplay and hand-to-hand combat.
The Pulp Fiction and Django Unchained director has also received criticism from African Americans for the extensive use of the N-word in his movie dialogue, the Guardian reported.
Sheriff Clarke has found himself in the national spotlight as a police defender and law-and-order advocate with regular appearances on the Fox News channel, where he is practically an unofficial co-host; CNN; and other media outlets, ever since advising his Wisconsin constituents two years ago in a series of ads to arm themselves against intruders rather than hiding under the bed and waiting for overworked, undermanned cops to arrive.
A former city of Milwaukee police commander, Clarke, a Democrat, has been county sheriff since 2002 and was reelected to his fourth term in that job in 2014. He is an outspoken supporter of Second Amendment rights and firearms training and a foe of the Obama administration, particularly in what he claimed was its war on police. According to Clarke, during the recent CNN presidential debate, the Democratic candidates were pandering to the Black Lives Matter movement by engaging in “plantation politics” and “whoring for votes.”
Clarke has previously described the Black Lives Matter movement as, among other things, a Frankenstein monster and a collection of misfits, and renaming them “Black Lies Matter.”
He has insisted that the group should protest against joblessness and failing schools in the inner cities rather than demonstrating in opposition to the police.
In an appearance on Sean Hannity’s FNC program, Clarke slammed both Tarantino and Obama for their apparent support of the police protesters.
“Well, there is no way to understand this nonsense. First of all, the claims made by Tarantino — he’s a limousine liberal; he’s a one-percenter. The claim made by President Obama that ‘this is not based on emotion, it’s real,’ is just plain wrong. These claims are based on fiction. Once you strip away the myths, the lie, the propaganda, all that remains is the facts. Lies put out and repeated over and over again by the president of the United States are not a substitute for empirical research… The president of the United States lacks the courage to look at the black community and tell them to look in the mirror as the source of their problems. Most of the people that the police come in contact with are engaged in some sort of criminal behavior…”
Citing law-enforcement statistics, Clarke claimed that white are much more likely to face deadly force from police than blacks and that most African Americans are killed through black-on-black violence.
When asked how he reacts to political adversaries who deem him an Uncle Tom, Sheriff David Clarke told The Daily Caller “that crap doesn’t bother me…it’s designed to get me off message.”
Do you think that Quentin Tarantino is a limousine liberal, as Sheriff David Clarke claims?
