Kandi Burruss Wishes Phaedra Parks A Happy Birthday, Porsha Williams And Quad Webb-Lunceford Attend Phaedra’s Birthday Party

Phaedra Parks spent her Saturday celebrating her birthday early with a big birthday bash. In attendance was her The Real Housewives of Atlanta co-star Porsha Williams. Another Bravo reality TV star who was there was Quad Webb-Lunceford, star of Married to Medicine. While Phaedra’s co-star Kandi Burruss seems to have missed the party, she did wish Phaedra a happy birthday on Monday, her actual birthday.

On Sunday, Phaedra posted a photo that shows her with some of her friends at the birthday party.

Many of Phaedra’s Instagram followers took Kandi’s absence from the photo to mean that she and Phaedra have yet to repair their broken friendship. Some people criticized Kandi for not being there for Phaedra.

Yet on Monday, Kandi did wish Phaedra, whom she described as a “beautiful southern belle,” a happy birthday. Kandi told people to send Phaedra some birthday love. Kandi also told Phaedra to “turn up” on her trip, indicating that Phaedra will be vacationing soon. Kandi accompanied her message with a photo of Phaedra from her birthday party. Perhaps Kandi, who is pregnant with her and husband Todd Tucker’s first child, didn’t attend the birthday party because she wasn’t feeling well?

Phaedra responded to Kandi’s post with several emoticons.

The state of Phaedra Parks and Kandi Burruss’ friendship was a major story line on Season 7 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. In their previous four seasons together, the two women got along great and stood by one another as friends. Their social media posts throughout the years made clear that their friendship extended beyond filming for the TV show.

The friendship started deteriorating while filming the seventh season. Phaedra admitted to NeNe Leakes and Porsha Williams that Kandi hasn’t really been there for her as she dealt with her estranged husband Apollo Nida’s incarceration and having to take care of their two young sons, all the while running her businesses. Kandi was completely unaware of how Phaedra was feeling and didn’t know about it until NeNe and Porsha told her that Phaedra was disappointed.

Kandi met with Phaedra in her office to talk about the issue. The two women also had a heart-to-heart talk during the group’s trip to the Phillippines. Both times, Kandi admitted that she was busy dealing with things going on in her life. They agreed to keep the line of communication clear between them.

The fact that Phaedra continued to make comments about their friendship to others instead of directly to her was what set Kandi off. In media interviews as the season aired, Phaedra repeatedly said that only NeNe Leakes and Porsha Williams have been there for her as she went through her drama with Apollo. Kandi grew incensed as she watched the episodes and saw what Phaedra said about her during her interviews.

During the Season 7 reunion show, Kandi, in tears, blasted Phaedra. Kandi pointed out that Phaedra hasn’t really been there for her either.

“Phaedra, when you sit up there on TV and was like, ‘Well she just lost a business deal… money can make me happy…,’ as if that’s the only thing that was going on… I told you about the prison situation with my other family member…Even when I mentioned to her about the play being cancelled, she was like, ‘I saw that somewhere.’ It wasn’t like she texted me saying, ‘Girl I hate that that happened to you.’ So it’s just like to me, it almost ends up being like a lopsided friendship with you always expecting me to be here here here but you ain’t doing that. When she graduated, I blocked my calendar so that I could drive HOURS to see her and be there for her. And every time they [Kenya Moore, Cynthia Bailey and Claudia Jordan] say something, I always stand up for her. So to see her trying to play me like, oh all I cared about was money, I was like, ‘Really? Oh okay. Well you ain’t gotta worry about it no more.'”

The two patched things up shortly after the reunion show aired. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Phaedra attended Kandi’s birthday party in early May. Kandi posted a photo of herself with Phaedra and declared, “Jesus fixed it!”

Yet it seems that the two still had some things to work out. A preview for Season 8 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, which premieres on Sunday, November 8, shows Kandi Burruss and Phaedra Parks in tears during a talk about their friendship. Kandi tells Phaedra that she can’t trust her. In response to Phaedra telling her that she wants their friendship to be what it wants to be, Kandi rolls her eyes.
