Dallas Cowboys Rumors: Dez Bryant’s Odds Of Playing Against Seahawks — Joseph Randle Has ‘Painful Injury’
The Dallas Cowboys suffered a fourth straight loss on Sunday after losing to the New York Giants 27-20. Matt Cassel’s first start at quarterback for the team couldn’t get them out of the slump, and then they lost running back Joseph Randle due to injury early on in the game. That’s after learning on Saturday that wide receiver Dez Bryant wouldn’t return from a broken foot to play, but what are the chances he plays against the Seattle Seahawks next week?
On Friday, Bryant was officially listed as doubtful on the injury report from the Cowboys, but he didn’t travel with the team to New York. By Saturday morning, he was downgraded to out and confirmed to not return this week from a broken foot.
Bryant did end up going to be with his team, but paid his own way so he could be on the sidelines for their game with the Giants. He wanted to be a part of things with the team, even though he would be missing his fifth straight game. As of now, it’s not even a sure thing that he will play next week, either.
Fox Sports is reporting that a source with knowledge of the Dallas Cowboys training staff assessment said the it’s “50/50” right now if Bryant will play this Sunday. If not this week, he is 100 percent expected back the following week against the Philadelphia Eagles.
It was reported on Sunday that Bryant had experienced some pain in his foot after being at practice last week. Bryant didn’t practice in team drills, but he did some rehab work and light running on the sideline.

Even if the bone is not fully healed after his surgery, Bryant could still play against the Seattle Seahawks. If not, then expect him on the field when the Cowboys take on the Eagles, and Dallas could really use him.
Quarterback Tony Romo is still not expected back until one of the Cowboys’ games in the week of Thanksgiving. He can start practicing with the team next week, but now another starter may miss some time, as well.
Even though some Cowboys’ coaches weren’t thrilled with running back Joseph Randle in recent weeks, he was still a good producer. Against the Giants on Sunday, Randle left the game early with a back strain, and it appears he may be out for some time.
According to NFL.com, Randle suffered an oblique injury that will be evaluated on Monday, but it’s likely he’s going to miss a game or more. The Cowboys already lost running back Lance Dunbar for the year earlier this season.
Once Randle went out, Darren McFadden filled the void and had a season-high 152 yards on the ground. It was one of his best games in years, and he was backed up by Christine Michael, who carried five times for 18 yards.
Rod Smith was recently signed off waivers by the Cowboys and will likely step up as the third running back for the team. It’s possible the team could end up looking into the veteran free agent running back pool for some help, but there’s been no word yet on that.
The Dallas Cowboys have to hope that Dez Bryant ends up coming back sooner rather than later to break this losing streak. If not, the season could soon be lost, and it’s not going to help that Joseph Randle is now out, as well. Injuries have hurt this Cowboys’ season a lot already, and they are hoping to avoid any more issues.
