Lamar Odom Suffered Over 12 Strokes According To Scan, Khloe Still By His Side

Lamar Odom remains in the hospital after waking from a coma, undergoing two emergency surgeries, and a brain scan that confirmed at least 12 strokes. Thus far, Odom’s ability to walk and talk are still impaired, and the hospital room is on lockdown, as Odom continues to be very emotional and easily upset.

The Inquisitr previously reported that only Khloe Kardashian, his legal wife, is allowed in the room following two emergency surgeries involving his chest. There are no reports yet on the specifics of the surgery except that they were emergencies, and not scheduled. Odom is reportedly also still on dialysis, and his kidneys allegedly are failing. All of these medical emergencies has affected Odom’s mental state, and currently, he is very emotional and easily upset. His wife Khloe Kardashian is by his side, and seems like a calming influence. Odom is still having trouble standing.

Sports Illustrated says that Odom continued to suffer mini strokes while he was unconscious. Family says that his speech has improved since he woke up from the coma that was caused by a combination of “natural” erectile dysfunction drugs, cocaine and alcohol while in a Nevada brothel.

“Odom was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel on Oct. 13 before being taken to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas. He was eventually moved to a hospital in Los Angeles.”

ESPN is wondering how a young man, still physically capable of playing in the NBA, fell so far. It seems Odom made the reservation ahead of time at the brothel, and put down a deposit. He ran up a bill of $79,000 over four days, with each “transaction” video taped so there is no dispute. Odom asked each of the prostitutes to sign a non-disclosure agreement, so they are not commenting on anything of a sexual nature. The staff did report that Sunday night, Odom became upset that a rerun of Keeping Up With The Kardashians was on.

“A little before midnight, Odom asked Ryder and Monica for some late-night snacks. He wanted to make caramel apples, so the women went to a Walmart about 20 minutes away. When they returned, he was on the bed, snoring loudly. They decided to let him sleep.”

Making caramel apples with hookers? Sounds too crazy not to be true. Ryder reported in after her weekly check-up on Tuesday, she returned to find Odom in his room, frothing at the mouth.

“It scared me to death,” said Hunter, a brothel manager whose voice can be heard on the frantic 911 call. “The fluid that was coming out of his nose and his mouth and the sounds he was making, it was clear we had a real emergency in our hands.”

Ryder reported that it took three paramedics to carry Odom out of the room under a sheet because of his size.

Hollywood Life is claiming that sources are saying it has been confirmed that Odom has suffered some brain damage from the strokes, making it unlikely that he will ever play professional basketball again.

“Likely there’s brain damage, but they’re not sure how much,” a source told E! News. “Virtually every drug imaginable was found in his system.”

It seems the types of strokes that Odom had are telling about the possibility of his recovery. The strokes coupled with other organ failures continue to complicate his case.

“The source continued to reveal that Lamar suffered from a loss of oxygen, but it’s also possible that he suffered an ‘ischemic stroke.’ An ischemic stroke is caused by blood clot preventing blood flow to the brain and is often associated with cocaine overdose as well as other drugs.”
