The comic book movie universe is something that is doing nothing but grow all the time, and one of the biggest films to come in the next year will be Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice . A number of details have been making their way out for the past week or so, even though the film isn’t coming out until mid-March. Now, the opening scene details have been revealed and details what the destruction of Metropolis means to Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck).
A lot of new images have been released lately, and one of them shows the holy trinity of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, and that’s set the world on fire.
Scenes shown in the trailers released so far for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice show the destruction in Metropolis that was caused by Superman (Henry Cavill) and General Zod (Michael Shannon). It also shows Bruce Wayne angry or upset or perturbed at how everything was destroyed.
Collider reported that Cavill said that isn’t just the reason behind the anger spawning on Bruce Wayne’s face, but it’s actually the opening scene of the film. Cavill talked about just how much it all means to Bruce Wayne and that even though he’s a resident of Gotham City, the destruction of Metropolis was big with him.
“What happens there is one of Bruce’s buildings gets destroyed and he’s trying to save all the people inside the building and he can’t. So he is this angry person who fears what Superman may do. Why are they just going to trust this super-powered alien? What if he does decide to turn against us?”
This is great as it gives Bruce Wayne a legitimate and understandable reason for his anger and why he is so against Superman. It also means that someone in the comic book movie world is just as concerned about the damage caused as those watching the movies.
Batman will suit up in the Bat-Armor and take on the Man of Steel for a reason that actually makes a lot of sense. Ben Affleck spoke on the anger that Wayne has going on as well, and says that these feelings are new for him.
“He’s found himself in a place of harboring a tremendous amount of rage for Superman. So it’s how he got there, and what that’s done to him, and what that’s done to people around him like Alfred, who are, I think, very scared and worried for him. It’s something that’s interesting and new.”
More information has been revealed lately as well, and Screen Rant states that there will be a “major threat” coming forth which will be more than just Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg). He’s going to need help taking on the Holy Trinity, and no one knows exactly what that force is going to be, but rumors have been circulating.
Those rumors have been anything from the resurrection of General Zod to at least a clone being made of him. There’s even been talk that Doomsday could somehow come into the mix or Darkseid is going to be introduced early.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Mamoa, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Ezra Miller, Michael Shannon, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, and many more. It is set to hit theaters on March 15, 2016.
The opening scene of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is intriguing and honestly doesn’t give away or spoil a whole lot or anything for that matter. It does set the tone for the film though, and it gives a great look at why things are going to happen the way they do. So much more is coming though and leading the way toward Justice League .
