Morgan Freeman Declares “I Think I’m God”
Morgan Freeman has some interesting opinions about religion, our creator and himself. He has previously played God in Bruce Almighty, and maybe it went to his head a little. The academy award winning actor declared himself to be a deity in his own mind while giving an interview to The Wrap. In all seriousness, there might be a few of them that agree.
The Science Channel cast Morgan Freeman as the host of its new series, “Through the Wormhole With Morgan Freeman.”
The Wrap asked Freeman about an episode of the show called “Did we invent God” and Freeman let it all out saying,
“Yes […] Well, here’s a scientific question: Has anybody ever seen hard evidence? What we get is theories from our earlier prophets. Now, people who think that God invented us think that the Earth can’t be more than 6,000 years old. So I guess it’s a question of belief. My belief system doesn’t support a creator as such, as we can call God, who created us in His/Her/Its image.”
That is why Freeman says he can’t really answer if someone asks him if he is atheist or agnostic because he says we invented God so he can’t define his belief in him.
Freeman said,
“So if I believe in God, and I do, it’s because I think I’m God,”
“Through the Wormhole” deals with these types of issues, very lofty questions with no real direct answer.
Freeman told the Huffington Post,
“The question of if we’re alone only occurs to you every now and then, when you look up and say, ‘Oh goodness, this can’t be all there is. If you are going to try to logically answer the question of if we’re alone in the universe, the answer is, ‘We can’t be.’”
