When Lindsay Lohan smashed into the back of an 18-wheeler she originally said the truck driver cut her off, now she is reportedly telling friends that the brakes on her rented Porsche had failed, causing her to smash into the back of the vehicle.
According to Lohan rep Steve Honig in a statement to PEOPLE:
“Lindsay cooperated fully with law enforcement. She has answered all their questions and provided them with everything they have asked for.”
Speaking to TMZ the truck driver tells a different story, alleging that one of Lohan’s peeps from her entourage tried to bribe the truck drive. He says of the following bribe:
“The guy took me across the street and told me this was some kind of famous person and they didn’t want to be in the media. But I’d already called 911 because they were trying to get away from the scene.”
Lindsay Lohan’s reps say that is not the case and the truck driver was simply “telling tales” to gain some tabloid attention for himself, perhaps selling his story for a pile of cash at Lohan’s expense.
In the meantime both Lindsay Lohan and her assistant Gavin are “okay.”
Lindsay, 25, was heading to her role on the set of Liz & Dick when the accident went down.
Lohan isn’t the only actress to be in trouble over traffic related accidents, Amanda Bynes was recently arrested for drunk driving and smashing into the side of a police car.
Perhaps more Hollywood stars need to start hiring drivers.
