Julianne Hough, Olivia Newton-John Go Together Like ‘Rama-Lama-Lama-Ka-Dinga-Da-Dinga-Dong’
Julianne Hough and Olivia Newton-John met up on Monday to compare Sandra Dee notes leading up to Hough’s turn as the good girl gone bad in Fox Network’s upcoming Grease: Live, and they found they go together like rama-lama-lama-ka-dinga-da-dinga-dong.
Grease was the word when the original Sandra Dee, Olivia Newton-John, and the Grease: Live Sandra Dee, Julianne Hough, took a pic together after the Australian superstar served as a guest judge on Dancing With the Stars.

Hough posted several pics on Instagram, one with caption:
“Last night I got to meet @therealonj and it was one of the greatest moments ever. I’ve been a hopelessly devoted fan of hers (see what I did there??) since the very first time I saw Grease, and I am so honored to get to play Sandy, January 31st Live on Fox. You can read about my fangirl moment on juliannehough.com today!”
Newton-John, 67, who was already a famous pop singer and everyone’s girl next door (even if she lived down under), played the iconic role of Sandy in the 1978 film classic Grease. Now it’s Julianne’s turn to take on the famous role in Fox’s first live production.

Grease is based on the 1971 musical of the same name and takes place in 1958. The story follows shy, girl-next-door Sandy’s romance with greaser Danny, who was portrayed by John Travolta in the movie and will be played by Aaron Tveit in Grease: Live.
Following DWTS, Julianne Hough posted about excitement over meeting Newton-John on her website, as reported by Just Jared, Jr.
“My favorite moment on Dancing With The Stars last night was… hmmmmm let me think about it… what could it be?? OH YEAH — OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN (AHHHHHHH!) I was incredibly honored to sit next to Olivia (can I call her Olivia?) at the judges table. Grease has been my favorite musical since always! It actually inspired me to become an entertainer. I’m still pinching myself over the fact that I have the opportunity to play Sandy in Grease: Live on Fox on January 31.”

The DWTS judge told Us Weekly in July that she is gearing up to play Danny Zuko’s love interest — a role that comes with some pressure because it will be played out on live television.
“I’m not nervous in a terrified way. I’m nervous in an excited way. I can’t wait. Those are some big shoes to fill so it’s exciting, but it’s also a little nerve-racking. It’s such an iconic role. It’s an iconic musical. I want to do it justice. But I’m very, very excited.”
It was in January that Fox announced their Grease: Live leading lady and Hough, who has also starred in Footloose and Rock of Ages, tweeted out her excitement.
It turns out the Newton-John will join the fun and will reportedly play Principal McGee in Grease: Live.
On Monday, the “I Honestly Love You” singer watched Hayes Grier and Emma Slater score a 32 (out of 40) with their Grease-inspired routine, while three couples, including Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough, earned perfect 40s.

Carly Rae Jepsen revealed last month that she would be joining the production, playing Frenchy.
In addition to Hough and Jepsen, Vanessa Hudgens will join to play Rizzo in the live production.
Grease: Live airs Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016 at 7 p.m. ET on Fox.
