Survive The ‘Fallout 4’ Cartoon Series Finale With A Little Luck
After releasing seven different animated episodes in as many weeks, Bethesda has finally brought their pre-launch Fallout 4 cartoon web series to an end. In order to help gamers better understand the character systems of the upcoming title, each installment of the video series was dedicated to illustrate the specific benefits that the different player attributes of Fallout 4 have to offer.
As detailed over the past several weeks, Fallout 4 will continue to utilize the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system that was used in previous Fallout games. The acronym represents all of the traits that players will possess in the franchises’ upcoming new entry.
Earlier episodes of the cartoon series described the reasons that users might enjoy the game’s more obvious skills like Strength, Perceptions, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, and Agility. However, Bethesda tackles Fallout 4‘s less tangible attribute of Luck as the cartoon series comes to a close. The idea of including Luck as a skill in Fallout 4 might seem odd, but it is hardly the first game to feature the attribute. In fact, the trait is actually somewhat of a staple among role-playing games.
While the effects of having high scores in categories such as Strength or Agility are easy to notice, the benefits behind Fallout 4‘s Luck skill might not be as readily apparent. However, once players begin to understand the attribute, they will learn why it was included as one of the game’s primary character traits.
Simply stated, Luck has a small effect on nearly every action a player makes in Fallout 4. If Strength helps someone better wield a melee weapon, Luck can add even more damage to a swing by allowing vault dwellers the chance to get the hit off just right. In a similar fashion, Luck factors in all aspects of play to present the opportunity to bolster the benefits of every other attribute in Fallout 4. Thanks to Luck, gamers can end up making that fortunate perfect shot or the trait can help them scavenge better equipment out of containers.
Like the Inquisitr detailed with previous installments of the Fallout 4 S.P.E.C.I.A.L. video series, Bethesda created each cartoon episode with the same retro 1950s style that can be found throughout the rest of the Fallout franchise. To achieve this, the cartoons feature the series’ iconic Vault Boy starring in various animated shorts. All of the episodes also stay within Fallout lore as they are presented as if they were made by the franchise’s Vault-Tec Corporation.
Now that all seven episodes of the series have been released, fans only have a few more weeks left to wait before the official launch of Fallout 4 heads to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Despite the fact that the game was only just announced to the world a few short months ago during this year’s E3 event, Fallout 4 has quickly become one of the season’s most anticipated titles.
In addition to preparing gamers with knowledge regarding the different character traits of Fallout 4, Bethesda also recently gave a brief look at the new and improved cinematics that will be used during in-game conversations. As the Inquisitr reported earlier this week, the jump to current-gen hardware means that the developer can deliver more dynamic dialogue scenes than ever before. This will extend to less static camera direction as well as improved character animations during conversations.
All seven installments of the cartoon are now available for viewing. Check out each episode of the complete S.P.E.C.I.A.L. web series for Fallout 4 below as you wait for the game to release this November.
