Miley Cyrus Turns James Franco’s ‘Bar Mitzvah’ Into Sideshow For Charity
Miley Cyrus took an event for James Franco and Seth Rogen to a whole new level of weirdness, Entertainment Tonight reported.
Cyrus — the 22-year-old singer and actress with a penchant for the outrageous — renewed her ability to raise eyebrows with her choice of outfits and props in Los Angeles on Saturday at the Hilarity For Charity Annual Variety Show: James Franco’s Bar Mitzvah.
Miley arrived at the event wearing an outfit featuring a giant, bright yellow flower and green peep-toe high heels. It would not be the only outrageous outfit Cyrus would be wearing that night.

After arriving at the faux Bar Mitzvah, Cyrus then changed into a blue thong leotard with sparkly gold tights complete with Star of David bracelets and accessories. Miley also held a giant, illuminated Star of David, a prop she reportedly twerked with during her performance at the event.
Even Cyrus smartly called out her wild choices for the audience, Billboard reported.
“Things are going to get a bit ridiculous. And that’s coming from someone who flew around on a giant hotdog for 20,000 people for several months last year.”

Miley Cyrus then performed at the event, singing multiple songs while on stage. Her set included “Super Freak,” which a fan recorded and posted on YouTube. While on stage, Cyrus renamed herself and the band Miley Cyrustein & The Super Jews.
The Jewish-themed activities were far from over on a night reserved for James Franco’s induction into manhood. At one point, Cyrus put on a cape with the words “SHALOM Y’ALL” written in glittery blue letters on the back of it.

Prior to the event, Miley Cyrus took to Instagram to post what she was planning to do for the night. Her post, however, was a picture of Cyrus smoking some substance from a bong and her message contained several four-letter words. Her decision raised some eyebrows among her 30.2 million followers, as they collectively wondered aloud if Cyrus was suffering from addiction and questioning her ability to be a role model.
The event, in its fourth year, is supposed to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s Disease. Seth Rogen and his wife, Lauren Miller Rogen, are the creators of the event. The inaugural event was held in 2012, and it has raised $4 million dollars over the years. Fundraising for the event grew tremendously this year with the faux Bar Mitzvah raising $2 million alone thanks to contributions from James Franco and Miley Cyrus.
Rogen came up with the idea for Franco’s induction into the Jewish culture because he was looking for “better looking Jews,” the actor said. Rogen approached Franco with this idea several weeks ago at his house and Franco consented.
Jeff Goldblum even got into the act at the Bar Mitzvah, a coming of age ceremony most Jewish males undergo when they turn 13 years old. Goldblum played to part of the rabbi tasked with the medical procedure that takes place during these events.

The event was broadcast live on Funny Or Die and presented by go90. An auction was held during the event, with comedian Bill Hader heckling and goading wealthy bidders over items. One item in particular that Hader had fun with was a yarmulke, or the traditional Jewish cap, that was signed by himself and Rogen.

Miley Cyrus has been in the news as of late for a variety of reasons. Serving as the host of the MTV Video Music Awards in August, Miley came under attack while on-stage from another artist. After her famous feud with Nicki Minaj erupted at the awards show, Taylor Swift has reportedly backed her friend Minaj over Cyrus, the Inquisitr previously reported.
A rumored make-up appearance between the two artists was set for Saturday Night Live in September, but Cyrus — who served as the show’s host — and Minaj did not get their opportunity. Miley Cyrus did, however, get an introduction from presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, who performed as a guest on the show.
