Kaley Cuoco & Johnny Galecki Renew Romance? ‘Big Bang Theory’ Stars Deny Secretly Dating [Video]

Kaley Cuoco is trying to squelch rumors that the reason The Big Bang Theory actress divorced husband Ryan Sweeting has to do with a behind-the-scenes non-platonic relationship with her co-star Johnny Galecki. Reports are also swirling that Kaley and Galecki are secretly dating. Johnny joined Cuoco in heading to social media to try to cancel out those romance reports, according to the Mirror.

Although Galecki and Kaley did get married on the Big Bang Theory, Cuoco wants to make it clear that what happens in front of the cameras has nothing to do with real life. Her social media remarks come after reports that Galecki and Kaley are so bonded that it caused Cuoco to break up with Ryan.

“So sorry to disappoint, but no home wreckers or secret flings going on here. Me and @sanctionedjohnnygalecki are just the best of buds- Leonard and Penny will just have to suffice!!!” wrote Cuoco.

Cuoco, who plays Penny on the Big Bang Theory, gave her co-star Galecki a fist bump to signify that they’re just platonic pals.

Johnny, who portrays the geeky scientist Leonard on the show, followed Kaley’s lead. Although the two did date at one point in their lives and have stayed close, Galecki tried to make it clear on social media that there’s no evidence to put Cuoco and Johnny at the top of the New Couples Hot List.

“No scandals / home wreckers / pregnancies here, y’all. Just profound friendship. @normancook (sic),” posted the actor.

The reference to Norman Cook is the user name that Kaley has chosen for her Instagram account.

Cuoco had given irreconcilable differences as her reason for divorce. The couple were married for only 21 months.

But was there something more to those rumors about Cuoco and Johnny? Both Kaley and Galecki have dished on their past relationships, reported Us Weekly.

Cuoco confessed three years before Galecki that the co-stars shared a romance that they tried to keep hidden for two years. But Galecki apparently decided it was time to spill the love beans too, including the fact that they’re close.

“We’re dear friends, still. Kaley’s not just an ex, she’s a part of my life,” admitted Johnny.

As to why he was so secretive about his romance with Cuoco, Galecki said that he was concerned that it might impact how viewers perceived the interactions of Leonard and Penny on The Big Bang Theory.

“I just don’t like to speak about it. And not because I’m trying to be enigmatic; I just worry that it will conflict with people’s acceptance of Leonard and Penny,” claimed Galecki. “I get the curiosity, but I don’t want to distract from the story.”

Cuoco and Johnny began acting together on The Big Bang Theory in 2007. In 2010, Cuoco revealed that she and Galecki had dated for several years.

“We dated for almost two years. It was such a huge part of my life and no one knew about it,” admitted Cuoco. “This is the first time I’ve ever talked about it, ever. It was a wonderful relationship, but we never spoke a word about it and never went anywhere together.”

Cuoco also said that they were protecting themselves and The Big Bang Theory by keeping quiet about it. But the effort of focusing on hiding their affection from public scrutiny impacted their romance, admitted the actress.

And finally, when it came down to a decision, Cuoco and Galecki agreed that they would be professional about a breakup. Kaley claims it was a mutual decision, and Cuoco insists that she and Galecki felt that it wasn’t their fate to be a couple.

“We knew we weren’t destined to be together. We accepted it,” claimed Cuoco.

After Galecki and Cuoco revealed those romances, she married Ryan Sweeting and Johnny dated Kelli Garner.
