Katy Perry’s Turn Ons: Is She Shading Russell Brand?
Katy Perry took time out of her busy schedule to talk to Glamour magazine about her new fragrance and beauty secrets. She also may have hinted to the magazine that Russell Brand is no longer her type of man.
Katy Perry revealed that she likes men with good hygiene. The 31-year-old no longer likes to date men who look like comedian Russell Brand or Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy. She said that these days, all she wants is a guy who cleans up well.
“If your teeth and nails are good, you’re a candidate. If you can’t clean under your nails and you want to touch me, forget it. And personally, the less hair, the better. I like a trimmed man but not completely waxed. I’m not into that f***boy look.”
Are you listening, John Mayer? The singer-songwriter was not always so clean cut in his heyday. Katy and John have been dating on-and-off since 2010. But lately it looks like he’s fitting her dating preferences, despite the occasional bed head style and scruff. John and Katy were last spotted holding hands at Alison William’s wedding. Inside sources told People magazine that the two were showing off some major PDA at the wedding, reconfirming their relationship status.
Now that Mayer and Perry are dating once again, it appears that her grooming preferences for men could be directed towards her ex-husband, according to the Korea Portal. He was known for showing off his grungy hairstyle and chest hair. Even Brand’s clothing was questionable at times, as they were worn torn and tattered.
While Katy kind of shades her ex-husband in her Glamour magazine interview, another report claims that the British comedian is slamming her for her own looks. He’s coming out swinging in his new documentary, Brand: A Second Coming. The film shot by Ondi Timoner include footage shot in 2012 when Russell and Katy were still married. It also shows an unflattering shot of the pop star.
According to In Touch Weekly, Katy Perry isn’t too happy about her ex-husband’s documentary.
“She comes across as a childish, selfish and brainless sex kitten for Russell’s pleasure. She even utters a crude line about her private parts.”
He could be coming after her for mentioning their divorce in her 2012 film. The 90-minute documentary Katy Perry: Part of Me included footage of her ex-husband. It also featured the moment when Brand sent a text message stating that he wants a divorce from her. She revealed that she worked so hard to make their 14-month marriage work, but they couldn’t come to terms when it came to having children.
There are also moments in the documentary when Katy takes time out of her California Dreams Tour to visit Russell, but he doesn’t reciprocate the favor. Out of the 90-minute documentary, he’s only shows up to one of her shows.
There were also reports that drugs were the reason behind Katy Perry and Russell Brand’s divorce. Some said that Katy’s hard partying lifestyle was too much for the former addict. Russell even hinted about it in a previous interview with Australia’s 60 Minutes.
“Sometimes it goes well, sometimes it don’t, but if you sort of sense there’s an incompatibility, then in any relationship regardless of the status of the individual, it’s kind of best to go separate ways.
“I think if you’re someone who’s really into mountain biking, it would be good to go out with someone else who’s into mountain biking, and if you’re really into Eastern mysticism, go out with someone else who into Eastern mysticism. I think if you’re a devoted tennis professional and you get married to a crystal meth addict, you might have trouble… I’ve been in a lot of trouble.”
According to Katy Perry’s recent interview with Glamour magazine, it appears that her ex-husband isn’t even her type anymore. It’s like she moved on to a different kind of bad boy.
Brand has moved on from comedy at the moment to publish several books, taking on hosting gigs, and talk about serious issues such as politics and economics. Meanwhile, Perry has released her fourth studio album, Prism, after their divorce and is wrapping up her Prismatic World Tour this week.
