Khloe Kardashian, Divorce To Lamar Odom Never Finalized, Makes Life & Death Decisions For Man She Still Loves
Khloe Kardashian never had a judge finalize the divorce between Khloe and Lamar Odom. Now, although they have separated, Kardashian has responsibility for all of the health decisions that need to be made for Lamar while he struggles to survive after being found unconscious in a brothel, reported Us Weekly.
Because the divorce was not finalized, Khloe and Lamar are married under the law. That makes Kardashian in charge of his care, including all medical decisions that need to be made during his stay in the Las Vegas hospital where Lamar is in critical condition. Khloe has remained by his side since she got the news.
The 31-year-old star of Keeping Up with the Kardashians and her 35-year-old estranged husband had almost completed the divorce proceedings by signing off on the documents. But although Khloe and Lamar may have assumed that was the final step, it’s not done yet legally. In order for Kardashian to officially divorce Odom, a judge must finalize it.
“Any medical decisions are up to Khloe,” said an insider.
When Kardashian learned what had happened to Lamar, she rushed from Los Angeles to Las Vegas’ Sunrise Hospital. But Khloe may be battling a variety of emotions after learning that her husband was discovered unconscious in a brothel. And the events that happened to the man Kardashian admitted she still loved may never be fully known after he walked through the door of that Nevada facility on Saturday.
Khloe is trying to stay positive about the outcome, along with the Kardashian family.
“She will be there hoping he pulls through, but I hear the situation is not very good,” revealed the source.
In addition to Khloe and the Kardashian family, Liza Morales (Odom’s ex) and their children are there. Khloe even arranged the travel for Lamar Jr. and Destiny so they could be with their father.
But what happened in that brothel prior to Kardashian learning that her husband, famed for his NBA success, had been found unconscious? Lamar had been in that brothel for four days, reported CNN.
Staff members at the brothel revealed that Khloe’s husband had used cocaine, and one person said that he consumed a total of 10 tablets containing herbal supplements during a three-day period.
After calling 911, staff revealed that they had found him in bed. A fluid described as pink was leaking from his nose and mouth.
“[Odom was at the brothel] to get far away from something,” said the brothel’s manager.
Another person revealed that Kardashian’s estranged husband had been driven to the brothel.
“He didn’t indicate what he wanted to get away from but was adamant he wanted no phone calls, don’t acknowledge he was here, wanted rest and relaxation,” said that individual.
Khloe and Lamar had been married for four years. Kardashian made the decision to divorce him in 2013. She gave irreconcilable differences as the reason. But because the divorce was never finalized, that makes Khloe responsible for the difficult health care choices that loom in the future.
According to the Rev. Jesse Jackson, Kardashian’s husband is still unconscious. During his visit, Jackson held hands with Khloe and prayed with her as well as his friends.
“He is in a real struggle, and I think the doctors are doing their task,” revealed Jackson. “We fall down and we try to get back up again, and we hope mercy and grace will be extended to (Lamar) and he can get up again.”
Kardashian and her husband appeared both on the family’s reality TV show as their own prior to her decision to divorce him. The couple’s show, Khloe & Lamar, had a two-season success. And Kardashian revealed that despite the divorce, she does love Lamar.
“I will never, ever not love Lamar. I was so obsessed with him in a healthy way. He was my husband, and I still wish he was,” said Khloe.
Legally, he is still the husband of Kardashian until the divorce is finalized.
