Good Job, Good Effort: Kid Gives Miami Heat Words Of Encouragement After Devastating Loss [Video]
“Good job, good effort.” As the Miami Heat walked off the court with their heads hung low after losing game five on their home court to the Boston Celtics, words of encouragement (possibly sarcastically) rained down upon them.
“Good job, good effort,” a young Heat fan yells over and over as Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, and the rest of the Heat hurry off the court after their third consecutive loss.
The moment lit up Twitter, Facebook, and barrooms. T-Shirts have already been made up. Internet memes have already been created. And Lebron James has already echoed the little boy’s words during a post-game press conference.
James said:
“We played good enough to give ourselves a chance to win. That’s all you can ask for.”
That’s not all you can ask for. That’s not all that Miami can ask for. A three-time MVP, the self-title king of the NBA, a man who promised to bring Miami not one, not two, not three… but an era of championship titles, should not be satisfied with getting an “A for effort,” despite a young fan’s insistence that he deserves a hustle award.
But that seems to be the case. All Lebron James can do is try his best.
After the video went viral, a Twitter account was set up for the @Goodjobkid.
The Good Job kid writes:
- To me this game ended in a tie. Boston and Miami each scored 10,000 hustle points.
- The Heat are super sad in the locker room – I don’t get it. They got to play basketball on TV! They should hav ehad so much fun!
- Lebron should have promised 8 hustle trophies. The Heat are definitely getting one this year! #goodeffortgoodjob.
Here’s the video of the “Good Job Good Effort” kid.
What do you think about the Miami Heat? Did they try really really hard?
