‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Natalie Dormer Thinks It’s Her Fault Why She Was Compared To Denise The Pig

Some people previously did versions of their “Separated at Birth?” feature and decided to compare Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer with Kermit the Frog’s new love interest, Denise the Pig. According to several Twitter users who shared various photos, the resemblance was noticeable.

Nonetheless, many praised Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer for taking things in stride and for merely laughing off the comparisons. As per Entertainment Weekly, Natalie thinks that it’s partly her fault why she was being compared to the Muppets character.

“There’s a scene in season 3 where I’m walking on all the cliffs with Sansa, and I’m telling her how I was teased as a young girl for my nose. I asked in a dinner with David [Benioff] and Dan [Weiss], ‘Please, can you put in a line about a pig nose?’ I was bullied at school, I used to get told I had pig nostrils. I said for my own demons, it would be sticking two middle fingers up to the bullies of my childhood. If you watch the DVDs, you’ll see me oinking backstage. When I saw that Kermit had a new girlfriend, I thought I might be responsible for that. I brought up the pig subject myself.”

Apparently, the Game of Thrones actress is not offended by those who made fun of her appearance. More than 800 voters agreed that the 33-year-old handled the issue in a professional manner.

Although it isn’t the first time that Natalie gained fans because of her attitude when it comes to bashers, she once admitted to Stylist magazine that she’s uncomfortable with “stolen shots.” For her, it’s more appropriate if people would just approach her instead of being sneaky.

She also said that she had to drew a line because the Natalie people would see on television and on red carpet affairs is different from a plain “Nat going to Waitrose.”

Natalie’s character in Game of Thrones, Margaery Tyrell, is one of the fan-favorite figure because despite her ambitious and conniving nature, she shows compassion towards commoners instead of nonchalantly chopping their heads off. Many were unhappy when Margaery was thrown in a dungeon in the fantasy show’s fifth season.

In the same interview with Stylist, Natalie echoed the fans sentiments because for her, Margaery is not power-hungry.

“That’s a massive over simplification. She’s not a single operative, she’s not Lady Macbeth. She’s not power-hungry; she is the ambassador for her family and because of the medieval setting where marriage is the way to play power politics, she is just trying to control the sway of the politics of the country.”

Will Margaery come out unscathed as Game of Thrones Season 6 premieres next spring?

Her fate has yet to be revealed because in the books, Margaery comes out from the prison after being released by the High Sparrow because of the absence of strong evidence. Although she still needed to undergo trial, she opted to face a jury instead of having a trial-by-combat, which Cersei happily suggested. The story ends there, because George R.R. Martin still has to announce the official Winds of Winter release date.

Furthermore, it must be noted that in the HBO show, Margaery has been imprisoned for lying under oath instead of adultery. This difference might again yield a different story.
