Amanda Bynes Charged With DUI, Asks President Obama For Help
Amanda Bynes has officially been charged with driving under the influence.
The former Nickelodeon star was arrested for drunk driving about two months ago after she clipped a cop car.
Here’s a portion of the original police report:
“(At 3 a.m.) a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy in a marked black and white radio car, was stopped at the intersection of… preparing to turn right… when a black BMW driven by actress Amanda Bynes attempted to pass the right of the radio car, colliding with the right rear quarter panel of the radio car… Amanda Bynes was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence.”
After the accident Bynes drove away from the cop car. Bynes was officially charged with a DUI today but she was not charged with a hit and run.
TMZ reports that Bynes was charged with one count of misdemeanor DUI. The DA is reportedly seeking a sentence enhancement because Bynes refused to take a breathalyzer test.
According to the SF Gate, Bynes could face a minimum of 48 hours in prison if convicted. It’s also possible that Bynes has her license suspended for at least one year.
Despite the charge, Bynes insists that she wasn’t drinking at the time of her arrest. The actress even asked if President Obama would fire the cops for her so she wouldn’t get in trouble.
“Hey @BarackObama… I don’t drink. Please fire the cop who arrested me. I also don’t hit and run. The end.”
