‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ Viral Marketing Campaign Introduces Lex Luthor
One of the most mysterious characters in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Lex Luthor, was introduced in an exciting Warner Bros. viral campaign.
When the studio revealed that The Social Network’s Jesse Eisenberg was cast as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice legendary villain, fans didn’t know what to make of it. While Eisenberg is a good actor, not many thought he fit the description of the comic book character at all and so it became another controversial choice, much like Ben Affleck’s Batman casting.
Evidently, director Zack Snyder is looking outside the box for the casting of his characters and Eisenberg is a classic example of the new twist that viewers will see when the rest of the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice plot is finally revealed in about six months’ time.
For millions, March 25, 2016 can’t come son enough as it seems like we have waited for this movie forever. As the release date approaches Warner Bros. is kicking it up a notch and putting their PR machine to work, starting with Lex Luthor, a power player in the DC Universe.
From earlier Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailers it seems as if the sinister character is quite relevant in the plot, but that’s just speculation from a two-minute or less teaser. One thing is obvious, Snyder’s Lex Luthor is not a big muscle guy such as the one in the comics, but a scrawny kid who wears jeans and sneakers.
Now, thanks to the new and exciting Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice viral marketing campaign we know a little more of what we will see come March of next year. As part of the PR deal, Fortune ran a profile giving us more details on the mysterious 31-year-old evil genius, which starts with his background story.
“Dad named the company after himself ten years before I made my unexpected entrance into his life. But investors seemed to respond to the idea of an adoring father building a legacy for his precious son. He used that to his advantage. It was a good shtick and, whatever else he was, he was a good businessman.”
According to this biography, the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice character’s story begins when Lex Luthor Sr. arrives on U.S. shores as an immigrant from East Germany. He builds an empire of oil and machinery from nothing and later makes Superman’s life miserable with his machinations.
The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice viral marketing campaign comes as New York Comic-con 2015 gets underway. Fans will be able to enjoy all the displays featuring Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill) along with all the other characters we expect to see in the massively-anticipated blockbuster.
But one of the coolest things being reported from NYCC is the fact that Luthor himself will be providing free WiFi for those attending the festivities at the Javits Center, according to Screen Rant.
“Yes. Free WiFi throughout the Javits Center will be provided by LexCorp Industries.”
“LexCorp unites humanity through technology. We believe in technology as a means of communication, unification and a source of inspiration. To access the WiFi on-site at the Javits Center, connect to the ‘LexCorp’ network from the list of available networks. You will automatically be redirected to the LexCorp WiFi login page where you can enter your email address and click ‘CONNECT’ to gain access to the network. LexCorp – together, we can build a better world.”
Aside from all this coolness, there are rumors the new Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice viral marketing campaign will include a new poster, but this is to be taken with a huge grain of salt.
