Jim Carrey’s Girlfriend Married To Scientologist, Attempted Suicide Before

The sudden death of Jim Carrey’s girlfriend, Cathriona White, continues to get stranger as more layers of the young woman’s life is peeled back by investigators. Each day, there is something new. Today, sources have revealed that this is not the first time White has tried to kill herself, and the last time, she also used drugs.

The Inquisitr reported yesterday that at the time of her death, Cathriona White was married, and not to Jim Carrey. It seems that White was a member of the Church of Scientology, and so was her husband. Jim Carrey’s representatives have said that Carrey is traveling to Ireland to attend White’s funeral, where the body has been released to her husband.

TMZ is reporting that when White’s father died in 2012, she attempted suicide. Just before she succeeded at suicide, she had received a hateful message from her mother. White killed herself on the third anniversary of her father’s death.

“We’re told White’s friends told investigators on Cathriona’s birthday — just days before her suicide — she received a hateful message from her estranged biological mother who called her a ‘failure.'”

And now US Magazine is unveiling the name of White’s husband, another follower of Scientology.

“Jim Carrey’s late girlfriend, Cathriona White, was married to a man named Mark Burton at the time of her death, Us Weekly can confirm. According to the estranged couple’s marriage certificate, the Irish makeup artist, who died of suspected suicide last month, married Burton in Las Vegas in January 2013 at a wedding chapel called Heavenly Bliss.”

Burton is still White’s next of kin. Reps for Jim Carrey say that he feels terribly that White killed herself with his pills, but he didn’t notice they were missing.

“Jim didn’t even realize until a couple days later because it’s not something that he took on a regular basis,” the insider told Us.

Radar Online is reporting that Mark Burton, White’s husband, is involved in Scientology, which is causing more questions about the Scientology purification White was undergoing. Burton is a Scientologist and Jim Carrey is not. Was the church pushing White to stay with Burton?

Scientology critic Tony Ortega says that the couple met on the set of a web series The Online Gamer. The show was part of a series almost completely controlled by young Scientologists. But the church denies that Scientology played any role.

“Saying that somebody was studying Scientology in the past and connecting that to a suicide is like saying a person who had previously studied the Bible committed suicide.”

The Underground Bunker, which is notorious for blowing the whistle on all things Scientology, says that when White came to the U.S. from Ireland, she knew nobody and got mixed in with a group of young Scientologists, including Burton who were actively taking classes at the Scientology Centre.

“Our sources tell us that after meeting on the set, Cat and Mark Burton got married. But they apparently kept very quiet about it, because after Cat was found dead on September 28, apparently at her own hand, some of her friends were stunned to hear that she had been married.”

The Underground Bunker says they are continuing to unearth more information about White and Scientology.
