Jim Carrey’s Girlfriend Suicide Raises More Questions — She Was Married To Another Man

The investigation into the suicide of Jim Carrey’s girlfriend, Cathriona White, is getting more and more complicated, as it has been revealed that at the time of her death, she was married to another man. Add that to the fact that Carrey said they didn’t break up, but he left the door open on their relationship, it begs the question, why did she kill herself?

According to the Inquisitr, White committed suicide by taking an overdose of drugs that were prescribed to Jim Carrey under one of his aliases. It was also revealed that White had been undergoing a “purification process” through Scientology, which involved injections and staying in a sauna for over six hours a day. The “survival rundown” involves hundreds of hours of becoming aware.

Perez Hilton reports that White had separated from her husband, though not legally, and she says she had planned to divorce at some point in the future.

“There is no way that Jim would have taken her out to public places if he thought she was married… As far as Jim was concerned, Cat was separated from her husband and was going to start divorce proceedings in December. When people are separated they date or do whatever they need to do.”

The autopsy is complete, but the results will not be available for two to three months, pending toxicology.

The New York Daily News is also reporting that White was married to an Irish citizen. Once her body is back in Ireland, it will be released to her next of kin, who is her husband, which is odd, as she had been dating Carrey on and off for three years.

“She had a husband, we have a husband as next of kin,” an official in the medical examiner’s office told the publication, “We’re not releasing any more information on next of kin, but we do have her as married.”

It is also being reported that Carrey will travel to Ireland for White’s funeral, which should be more than awkward, as her husband will be in attendance.

The Los Angeles medical examiner will not officially confirm that White’s death was a suicide until all tests are in. As the Inquisitr reported, the police are still investigating how White was in possession of so many controlled substances that were prescribed to Jim Carrey, including Ambien, the sleep medication.

The Hollywood Reporter says that White’s body was found in a rental house in Sherman Oaks, when friends hadn’t heard from her for days.

“It came in as a suicide but we’re not noting it as such yet until we can confirm what was in her system,” said the medical examiner.

THR says that White left several suicide notes, largely blaming her breakup with Carrey as the reason she was ending her life, though Carrey says he “left the door opened” for their relationship. He has said that the drugs were taken from his Brentwood home without his consent.

Mercury News is saying that the Church of Scientology is in defense mode after people are suggesting that Scientology process contributed to her death.
