Arrow season 4, like The Flash season 2, is merely a few days away. Though, Arrow fans have been treated to a lot of information thus far, there is still a few things that have slipped out the week before the big premiere. Damien Darhk, White Canary, Constantine, and much more have been revealed this summer. So, it makes sense that Stephen Amell calls Arrow season 4 a “kicka**” season, according to Comicbook.
“Highlights from the season so far: The new suit’s really cool, the stunt sequences that we’re doing are bigger. I’ve really enjoyed the team aspect, and Oliver’s demeanor. The flashbacks, that we’ve kept completely secret, are really cool – that’s been a big highlight. The stuff with David [Ramsey] has been great, some really cool stuff with Katie [Cassidy]. Neal McDonough has been a wonderful addition, as has Echo [Kellum]. Our show is our show, but it’s nice to have new elements every year!”
Besides some of the awesome things happening in Arrow season 4, there is also more crossovers with The Flash , and of course Legends of Tomorrow is just around the corner. Amell seems to imply that some of the awesomeness in the next season of Arrow could also be part of the crossovers, which Amell says makes these seasons come together to make Legends , The Flash , and Arrow “basically one show.”
“It’s basically one show. The universe now, as it exists, is basically one show.”
Though a Supergirl crossover seems fairly unlikely, and has mostly nixed by everyone involved on both sides, there is still a lot going on between Arrow season 4, The Flash season 2, and soon to be Legends of Tomorrow season 1. One issue for the fourth season has been Diggle’s costume. Many Arrow fans have been curious to see if Diggle would get a costume. And images have been released revealing John’s costume for the show. Diggle’s helmet for Arrow season 4 has been the source of much contention because it mildly resembles Magneto’s helmet from the X-Men film franchise.
David Ramsey, the man who plays Diggle on Arrow , has finally addressed some of the qualms that Arrow fans have had in a brief response. Diggle does not seem to have an issue with his costume, in fact, he said he likes it , according to Green Arrow TV.
“I like it. I know there’s a lot of criticism that it looks like the Magneto helmet. But by the time you see Diggle in action – we also get into what the helmet can do – you won’t be thinking of the X-Men at all. There is a very cool gun too. The gun and the helmet, by the way, are S.T.A.R. Labs creations.”
This continues the narrative that Diggle will be become the DC Comics character The Guardian , but there has been no official remarks from Ramsey, Stephen Amell, or anyone else involved with Arrow or CW. It, however, still seems very likely.
Arrow season 4 promos and trailers have been surfacing here and there, adding little tidbits each time to give fans some more information before the premiere that is set for Wednesday. In the Arrow promo entitled “Aim Higher ,” some more Damien Darhk footage emerges, and a very inspirational Green Arrow speech that has Oliver declaring his desire to “fight for the city.”
The preface, however, is Captain Lance’s criticism that Green Arrow’s emergence in Star(ling) City has brought about “monsters” and “madness”. Thankfully for Captain Lance, and the residents of Green Arrow’s city, he is prepared to fight for his city. Curiously, his speech sounds almost like a political campaign speech, but at this point, there has been the exact opposite of an affirmation about Oliver Queen running for mayor.
Arrow season 4 is set to premiere October 7 at 8:00 p.m., so all these questions and more, will be answered soon enough.
