After ‘RHOC’ Reunion, Vicki Gunvalson Says She’s Moving On Mentally From Brooks Ayers And Letting Herself Heal
Did Vicki Gunvalson learn something at The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 10 reunion filming that finally convinced her that the other women were right about Brooks Ayers? It seems so. On Thursday, right after finishing filming the reunion show, Vicki confessed that she’s moving on from Brooks.
Vicki posted a photo of herself with her daughter, Briana Culberson, and three friends at a Mr. Chow restaurant. Vicki thanked her friends for taking her out to dinner. As for the reunion, she described it as “shocking” and expressed relief that it’s over. “Time to move on to a bigger and brighter future,” she wrote.
“Thanks ladies for taking me to dinner tonight. What a shocking season finale. Glad it’s over. Time to move on to a bigger and brighter future. Love you girls.”
Vicki’s comment that it’s “time to move on” prompted many of her followers to wonder if she meant that she won’t be returning to the reality show. Many told Vicki, the self-proclaimed “OG of the OC,” to not leave because the show just wouldn’t be the same without her. Vicki’s fans don’t have to worry, at least not yet. It seems that for now, Vicki has no plans to leaving the show.
Vicki later explained in a comment that what she was referring to, with her “time to move on” line, was actually her ex-boyfriend, Brooks Ayers. Vicki wrote that it’s “time to move on mentally from Brooks” and to “let [her] heart heal.” She said that she’ll be taking advantage of some alone time and, for the first time her life, learning how to be single.
“What I referring to in this post, was its time to move on mentally from Brooks and to let my heart heal. I’ll be taking some time for myself so I can learn to be single for the first time in my life.”
Brooks Ayers and Vicki Gunvalson filmed Season 10 as a couple. In an interview with Us Weekly in November 2014, Brooks and Vicki revealed that they got back together after he told her that he was battling cancer again. Vicki, who had Brooks move into her home, said that his cancer brought them closer together.
Yet, in August, the couple revealed that they had split yet again. In a statement to Us Weekly, Brooks and Vicki said that it was time to move on with their lives, separately. They did not give a specific reason for the split.
“After much prayer, thought, counseling, and consideration, we have decided to end our four year relationship. We both wish nothing but a great future for each other. We have come to realize that one can indeed love someone in their heart, but that the time may come for their lives to take separate paths.”
Even after the split, Vicki continued to publicly defend and support Brooks. In her last BravoTV.com blog post, posted about eight weeks ago, after she and Brooks had broken up, Vicki expressed regret over convincing Brooks to open up about his cancer on the show. She also said that viewers don’t get to see how sick Brooks is.
“What you don’t see are the struggles Brooks has gone through by making the decision to reveal this season that he even has cancer. He did NOT want to, and I told him it was a way for us to show how we can inspire others who have cancer and how couples can ban together during this time. I had no idea it was going to be the focus this season…What you don’t see are the night sweats, the high fevers, and the vomiting after his chemo treatments. What you don’t see is how sick he was earlier this year from doing chemo.”
Vicki has also, as recently as last week, retweeted links to interviews that Brooks did, in which he defended himself, and articles that portrayed him in a positive light.
Was Vicki was still hung up on Brooks? As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Vicki’s co-star Tamra Judge revealed in September that it was Brooks who broke up with Vicki. Yet Vicki’s comment after the Real Housewives of Orange County Season 10 reunion show stating, it’s “time to move on mentally from Brooks and to let [her] heart heal,” combined with her description that the reunion was “shocking,” indicates that something has caused Vicki to change direction when it comes to supporting Brooks.
Another photo that Vicki posted after filming the reunion shows that her daughter, Briana Culberson, also took part in the reunion.
A few weeks ago, the Inquisitr reported that co-star Shannon Beador said during an interview that she was shocked by what Brianna, who has long criticized Brooks, knew about Brooks’ history and cancer. Perhaps Vicki Gunvalson’s daughter told her something at the reunion that finally convinced her to move on from Brooks Ayers?
