The Robert Pattinson Effect Hits Berlin
If politicians could bottle it they would. Heck, even some of today’s movie stars would.
Blazing though Europe, one city at a time, Robert Pattinson brought some serious starpower and non-starry charm to Berlin today for the fourth premiere of Cosmopolis.
Looking sharp in a charcoal Gucci suit, the Brit actor delighted fans at the Kino International movie theater by signing autographs and posing for pictures with as many as he could.
Interviewed on the red carpet by several outlets, Pattinson told one reporter that the idea of accepting the role of Eric Packer – the billionaire Wall Street wunderkind who takes a 24 hour wild ride through Manhattan, and tackling such a difficult script – was “terrifying.”
“It was one of the most nerve-wracking experiences of my life” Pattinson joked.
Still enjoying predominantly excellent, critical reviews for his performance in Cosmopolis, the actor told another reporter, “I’m really happy. Not a lot of films are made like it, so to see it come out […], it’s wonderful.”
Out of the blue, one reporter suggested that he wouldn’t do another Twilight Saga film. Without hesitation, Pattinson said, “Oh no, I’d definitely do it. […] I’d definitely do another Twilight if they wrote one.”
Pattinson looked visibly grateful so many fans had come out for the premiere and he told one interviewer, “People are still sticking around and coming out in cold, miserable weather like this. It’s wonderful.”
Speaking on stage inside the theater just before the screening, Pattinson admitted he was “nervous” about what the audience would think.
Encouraging the excitable audience to have an “open mind” before they watched the film, the 26 year-old said, “It’s very strange and unique.”
Next stop, London.
