Kim Zolciak-Biermann Update: Will She Continue With ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 21 After Her Mini-Stroke?
Don’t Be Tardy and Dancing with the Stars Season 21 star Kim Zolciak-Biermann frightened fans with news of a mini-stroke after the Week 2 DWTS shows. She seems to be doing much better now, but will she be able to return to the dance floor? What’s the latest on her condition?
Kim Zolciak-Biermann shared a few updates via social media in the days after she had the mini-stroke. Her husband, Kroy, was right by her side, and she thanked fans for all of their support throughout the scary ordeal. In another post, Kim shared that her Dancing with the Stars partner, Tony Dovolani, had been camped out at the hospital by her side as well.

Many DWTS fans wonder, of course, what this medical incident means for Kim’s future on Season 21 of the show. Though neither Zolciak or the show have confirmed an exit, most would imagine that she’ll have to drop out after this mini-stroke incident. The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star was just released from the hospital on Friday, so clearly she hasn’t been well enough to prepare a new routine for Week 3 with Tony.
Gossip Cop shares details from a statement Kim released on Sunday. In it, Zolciak shares that she was spending time at home with family resting and she thanked everybody for their support. Though her DWTS experience has been something of a rough one so far, Zolciak isn’t ready to say it’s over apparently.
Kim shared, “I can’t express enough how much I love dancing and this whole experience, and I hope this will not be the end of dancing.”
Some DWTS fans felt anxious that Kim could have been facing elimination in Week 2, but she managed to get enough votes to stay over both Chaka Khan and Victor Espinoza. As PureDWTS notes, Zolciak remains in trouble heading into Week 3, though. However, Gary Busey and Paula Deen are also likely in a dangerous spot. The site suspects that if Kim doesn’t drop out, she may manage to be safe over Gary, as they suspect that Paula will make it through this week.
The show may be keeping an official decision under wraps for the sake of drama in Monday’s show, but DWTS fans are buzzing that this may well be the end of the season for Kim. Many speculate that it seems unlikely that doctors would clear Kim to jump back into dancing given she was just released from the hospital. On top of that, Zolciak was in the hospital in Atlanta where her family lives, and it would shock many if her doctors cleared her to hop back on an airplane to head back to Los Angeles.

Though many a pro and celebrity have continued to dance after an injury, Kim Zolciak-Biermann’s mini-stroke may be a game-changer. If somehow Kim and Tony were to dance in Monday’s Week 3 episode, they would be dancing to the theme song from “I Dream of Jeannie,” perhaps tackling a salsa, according to PureDWTS.
Is there a way for Kim and Tony to stick around Season 21 of DWTS despite her medical emergency? Though there is a fair amount of buzz circulating about how Zolciak’s mini-stroke came about and how severe the situation was, there’s no question that her ability to continue the show has got to be at risk.
Tune into Dancing with the Stars airing on Monday, September 28 to see what comes next for Tony Dovolani and Kim Zolciak-Biermann given her recent medical emergency. Even if Kim does drop out, some DWTS fans speculate that a pair could also be eliminated for essentially another double farewell this week, and fans will be anxious to see how it all plays out.
