Fans of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice should be excited to learn that new trailers might be on the way. New rumors indicate that a series of trailers for the upcoming movie are set to air on television as early as next month. According to Heroic Hollywood , two new trailers are expected to premiere on October 26, which just so happens to be the same night both Supergirl and Gotham return to TV.
The trailers are expected to be released during these two shows, and it is thought that each one will focus on one of the superheroes in the movie. This means that DC Entertainment is willing to embrace the Supergirl/Gotham rivalry as the trailer during Supergirl will prominently feature Superman (Henry Cavill), while the trailer for Gotham will include a heavy dose of Batman (Ben Affleck).
Although both shows normally air during the same time slot on two separate networks, and will continue to do so in the upcoming seasons, Supergirl will be premiering at a different time on October 26. This will enable fans to watch both shows live. This change in time also lends some credence to the rumors as there doesn’t appear to be another major reason why Supergirl would adjust its time slot.
In addition to the TV trailers, there is also expected to be a much longer theatrical trailer set to be released some time in November. This full length sneak peek might appear in theaters alongside a number of upcoming movies, like Creed , Spectre , and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part Two .
Meanwhile, the two TV trailers are only expected to be around one minute in length. Although this isn’t a whole lot of time, it should include a number of new surprises concerning the upcoming film. With that said, how likely is it that fans will be treated to new trailers?
So far, producers of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice have waited three to four months before releasing new trailers, which in part is due to an effort to sustain the excitement surrounding the film. With the first official trailer being released back in April, it is about time for a new trailer. While this doesn’t necessarily mean a new one will be released, it does make sense for the studio to do so if it wants to keep fans excited.
Additionally, both Batman and Superman are two of the most well-known superheroes of all time, and many are worried that one of them will be featured more prominently than the other in the film. Releasing two trailers that each focus on one of the superheroes would certainly help to quell this fear and ensure fans that the movie will not be dominated by either Batman or Superman.
Whether or not the two new trailers will be released at the end of October, or a full-length one premieres in theaters sometime in November, it will certainly add to the excitement many fans are already experiencing. With that fan base in mind, both the opening episodes of Supergirl and Gotham should also benefit greatly from the added amount of viewers that are sure to tune in to find out if the trailers will be aired.
Fans can discover if the rumors surrounding the two new trailers are true when the new seasons of Supergirl and Gotham air October 26 on CBS and Fox, respectively.
While we all wait in excitement for whatever is revealed during the trailers, it will surely add to the hype already surrounding Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice , which is set to premiere in theaters everywhere on March 25, 2016.
