Air New Zealand Unveils Brand New Lounge At Auckland International Airport
Business class and high-status travelers flying on Air New Zealand flights will be able to enjoy a new flagship lounge that Air New Zealand has unveiled. The new Air New Zealand lounge is located in Auckland, New Zealand.
Australians on Air New Zealand flights to North and South America via Auckland will also be able to use the lounge, as it will serve as a stop-over lounge, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
Air New Zealand said that it created a mix of separate zones in an effort to offer its customers the utmost comfort for when they need a place to relax at or to get some work done before they continue their journey.
The new lounge features more than 21,000 square feet of space, and it is larger than the old lounge. The new Air New Zealand lounge is also located in a different area of the terminal, and more than 350 customers can easily be seated in it.
Christopher Luxon, the CEO of Air New Zealand, said that the company created the brand new lounge with customer feedback in mind. According to TVNZ, Luxon said that the number of high value customers using Air New Zealand’s lounge have grown, and one of the most common things mentioned in the feedback on their Auckland International Lounge was in regards to space.
Air New Zealand’s lounge has an outdoor terrace, which is considered to be one of the biggest design features. Travelers who visit the Air New Zealand lounge will be able to enjoy sitting near a fireplace, as the terrace has one. The terrace also overlooks the runway.
The lounge, which was unveiled a few days ago, also features a cocktail bar, according to Stuff. Air New Zealand considered children in its design, too, because the lounge has a two-story children’s play room. The Air New Zealand lounge even has seven showers and a media room, as well as a business zone.
Gensler, an architecture company, designed the new Air New Zealand lounge. This isn’t the first time Gensler has worked with Air New Zealand, as it partnered with the airline on projects in Los Angeles and Sydney airports.
The opening of the new Air New Zealand lounge is part of an investment the airline was pumping into its network of lounges over the last four years.
Air New Zealand said it was going to work its way throughout the entire network of lounges.
