‘Gotham’ Scandal: Morena Baccarin’s Husband Claims She Cheated On Him With Ben McKenzie

Gotham is providing fans with drama both on and off the screen. TMZ reports that the show’s stars, Ben McKenzie and Morena Baccarin, are in the midst of a cheating scandal, according to Morena’s estranged husband, Austin Chick.

Chick claims that Morena cheated on him while they were still working on their marriage and not quite broken up yet. As a previous Inquisitr article has reported, Baccarin is three months pregnant with her Gotham co-star Ben McKenzie’s child.

According to legal documents filed in the married couple’s ongoing custody battle, Chick says if you do the math you’ll find that he and his wife, Morena were still “sharing a bed” around the the time the baby was conceived.

“This places the moment of conception right in the first week of June, 2015, the time she was telling me she wanted to work on our marriage and well before we stopped sharing a bed,” Chick claims in the legal papers.

But Morena claims that the couple had already discussed separating in March. After a three-and-a-half year marriage, Chick filed for divorce in July of this year and sought spousal support plus payment of his legal fees. They have a 23-month-old son together and it looks like Chick doesn’t want Ben hanging around his child.

According to TMZ, Austin claims that their son currently lives in a “confusing, unhealthy environment.” Why? It all stems from an alleged incident that happened in August, about a month after he filed for divorce. Chick came over to their house to collect his stuff and found a freshly showered Ben McKenzie playing with his (Chick’s) son.

People Magazine reports that Morena now has the ability to move her son to New York, where Gotham is filmed, after a judge settled a joint custody arrangement between the estranged spouses. Based on the terms of the agreement, their son, Julius, will live mostly with his mother.

People Mag also reports that Morena Baccarin and Ben Mckenzie kept their romantic relationship completely under wraps until last Sunday during Emmy Awards weekend. The two Gotham co-stars were seen holding hands at the Fox Emmy Party.

Morena Baccarin plays Dr. Leslie Tomkins on Gotham, a friend of Bruce Wayne’s deceased father and a physician at the Arkham asylum. Her character definitely has some chemistry with Ben McKenzie’s character, Jim Gordon. Here’s what Morena had to say to IGN about her scenes with Ben earlier this year:

“They sort of hit it off because they’re both two people who are trying to do the right thing in a city that’s corrupt. And, like him, she’s someone who doesn’t really stand for bulls**t. She’s very pragmatic and isn’t fazed by the craziness of Gotham. So they’re pretty drawn to each other and they wind up teaming up.”

Looks like some of the chemistry between the characters ended up rubbing off on Morena and Ben!
