Courteney Cox On Her Fiancée And Their Mystery Matchmaker
Courteney Cox will soon join her once-upon-a-time Friends co-star Jennifer Aniston as a newlywed, but while Jennifer kept her wedding planning a secret, Courtney’s nuptials are well-known in the entertainment world. Courteney and fiancée Johnny McDaid seem to gush about each other, frequently. Recently, People caught up with the pair and the love Johnny has for Courteney was so obvious.
“I just want to be with this woman for the rest of my life. That is all that matters. The ceremonies are academic.”
Courteney Cox told People that she knew he was the one when she could tell the person she saw was the real deal.
“He’s a very sensitive soul. When I knew that this was just who he is, that he was just a beautiful, sensitive, loving person with a wonderful family, with a beautiful set of friends. Then I was like, ‘This is for real!'”
So how did this stunning couple meet? Courteney Cox recently appeared on The Talk and revealed that they had a musical matchmaker in their corner. Ed Sheeran is friends with Courteney and good friends with Johnny McDaid. Ed invited Johnny to a gathering at Courteney’s house one Sunday and the rest is history.
According to Reveal, Ed Sheeran said not long after the couple met that things were moving quickly.
“Things are moving fast. He moved in and judging by the last time I saw them, they couldn’t be happier.”
Johnny proposed to Courteney Cox in June of 2014, and she announced it immediately for all the world to know.

The wedding is guaranteed to be a musical phenomenon. Johnny is a singer with the band Snow Patrol and a prolific songwriter. While the wedding date hasn’t been set, and while a list of performers has yet to be announced, one thing is for certain – the couple definitely wants Ed Sheeran to perform at the wedding. According to Irish Central, Courteney Cox is grateful to Ed for introducing her to Johnny and can’t imagine not having him involved in the wedding.
“We are certainly grateful to Ed for introducing us. I can’t imagine him not playing something at the wedding.”
