Big Brother 17 spoilers reveal who won the $500,000 prize. The season finale provides more Big Brother 17 spoilers, as the jury vote was read aloud by host Julie Chen Wednesday night, September 23. To get to the final vote, producers provided viewers with a lot of recap from summer 2015. It showed the progress that Vanessa Rousso, Steve Moses, and Liz Nolan made from the first day they entered the BB17 house. Julie Chen then revealed highlights from the first two parts of the final Head of Household competition. Vanessa won part one and Steve won part two, leading to a showdown during the season finale. That was where the Big Brother 17 spoilers already known by fans came to an end.
The episode moved to the BB17 jury house, where deliberations were finally shown to fans. The fireworks were plentiful as former houseguest Dr. Will Kirby hosted the discussions. A lot of anger was shown toward Vanessa for her hand in most of the jury members getting evicted. There were several times when people were talking over one another, but it made for good television.
During part three of the final HOH competition, Vanessa and Steve had to answer questions that were asked of or about the members of the jury. They each had to choose between two options, with the houseguests answering the most (out of seven) questions correctly winning the HOH. After the seven questions it was still tied. This led to a tie-breaker question for Julie Chen that Steve Moses answered correctly.
In the final eviction of the season, Steve gave a well-rehearsed speech before sending Vanessa to the jury. During her interview with Julie Chen, Vanessa admitted that she would have voted him out as well. With the final HOH decided, the jury was brought in to the studio to ask questions of the final two houseguests. Liz and Steve answered the questions and then each gave a speech about why they felt they should win the half a million dollars.
After the votes had been made and the nine jury members had each made a comment or two, the six houseguests evicted first got some more onscreen time. It went quickly, but it allowed fans to see people like Clay Honeycutt and Audrey Middleton one last time. The show then progressed to the votes, where Steve Moses was named the winner of BB17. Steve wins $500,000, while second place finisher Liz Nolan wins $50,000. Breaking down the votes, John McGuire, James Huling, Meg Maley, Becky Burges, and Jackie Ibarra voted for Steve. Vanessa Rousso, Austin Matelson, and Julia Nolan voted for Liz.
