Donald Trump Boycotts Fox News Over Campaign Coverage, Stating He Won’t Be On Fox Anymore [Update]
Donald Trump is yet again at it with Fox News. Continuing the legacy of their bitter feud, Trump announced that he will be boycotting the network.
Trump went onto his Twitter to blast Fox News about how unfair they have been treating him during his campaign, and announced that he will no longer watch or appear on the network.
.@FoxNews has been treating me very unfairly & I have therefore decided that I won't be doing any more Fox shows for the foreseeable future.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 23, 2015
This tweet comes after Trump had some words about Bill O’Reilly and his oh-so-favorite person, Megyn Kelly, on Tuesday night. On Monday, Trump also went on his Twitter to express how O’Reilly had been “negative” towards him, according to CBS Local.
.@oreillyfactor was very negative to me in refusing to to post the great polls that came out today including NBC. @FoxNews not good for me!

.@oreillyfactor, why don't you have some knowledgeable talking heads on your show for a change instead of the same old Trump haters. Boring!

I am having a really hard time watching @FoxNews.

And, of course, after Trump was done with his mini rant against Fox News and O’Reilly, he had to yet again attack Kelly.
Do you ever notice that lightweight @megynkelly constantly goes after me but when I hit back it is totally sexist. She is highly overrated!

I think @megynkelly should take another eleven day "unscheduled" vacation.

Trump and Kelly began their feud during the Republican presidential debate in August when Kelly asked Trump about his negative statements made in the past about women. Kelly questioned Trump and his insults and believed that the language he was using would fuel to the Republicans “war on women.” Trump, in return, did not like Kelly’s questioning, and told CNN that Kelly had “blood coming out her eyes, blood coming out her wherever.”
After Trump insulted Kelly, she took a 10-day vacation, which Fox announced had nothing to do with Trump’s comments about Kelly.
“The conspiracy theories about Megyn Kelly’s vacation rank up there with UFO’s, the moon landing and Elvis being alive. Megyn is on a pre-planned, annual summer vacation with her family, which is much deserved. To imply otherwise as Donald Trump and his campaign operatives have is not only widely irresponsible, but downright bizarre. Perhaps Mr. Trump thinks it’s adventurous to his poll numbers to keep talking about Megyn, but that doesn’t change the fact that Roger Ailes has fully supported her and her tough journalistic questioning since day one and is thrilled with the added exposure from the debate which resulted in even higher ratings of The Kelly File this week. Anyone who knows Roger is aware of how historically and consistently loyal he is to all of his talent and how he protects them at all cost.”
Although Trump will supposedly no longer appear on Fox News, it is doubtful that he will keep his mouth closed about the journalists who work on the network.
Editor’s Update: The Inquisitr’s editorial team has been contacted by a Fox News spokesperson, who offered the following.
“At 11:45am today, we canceled Donald Trump’s scheduled appearance on The O’Reilly Factor on Thursday, which resulted in Mr. Trump’s subsequent tweet about his ‘boycott’ of FOX News. The press predictably jumped to cover his tweet, creating yet another distraction from any real issues that Mr. Trump might be questioned about. When coverage doesn’t go his way, he engages in personal attacks on our anchors and hosts, which has grown stale and tiresome. He doesn’t seem to grasp that candidates telling journalists what to ask is not how the media works in this country.”
