Both Tiger Woods & Lindsey Vonn Optimistic About Recovery From Recent Ailments
Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn might no longer be a couple, but they continue to have a great deal in common. Both are hoping to get back to their former greatness in their respective sports, but both have also been challenged with injuries. Lindsey Vonn is in rehab mode after an ankle fracture following a fall while training in New Zealand, and Woods has just undergone a second back surgery and won’t return to the course until 2016.
According to the Inquisitr, Woods and Vonn are still in contact and continue to have a lot in common, including their love for sports other than their own, especially tournament tennis. Both Woods and Vonn made appearances at the U.S. Open this month in New York to cheer on friends like Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.

This past week, Tiger Woods submitted to his second spine surgery after nagging back pain, according to Newsmax. but there is reason for him to be optimistic. This surgery is called a microdiscectomy, and it is similar to the surgery he had in March of 2014.
“Return to play for an elite athlete is around 90 percent, that they can return to their elite level of competition,” Dr. Andrew Hecht, chief of spine surgery at New York’s Mount Sinai Hospital, told Reuters in a telephone interview. “The prognosis is very good.”
Surgery will likely mitigate all pain, including the sharp nerve pain that comes with bulging discs that put pressure on the spine.

Last month, while training with some summer skiing in New Zealand, Lindsey Vonn took a tumble and broke her ankle, according to the Inquisitr. Vonn was finally back in full form after knee surgery that had taken her out of the sport for almost a year. Luckily, Vonn’s fracture was not displaced, and she continues to work out while the ankle heals.
