WWE News: WWE Panicking Over Low TV Ratings, Set To Do Drastic Changes Very Soon
As you might have noticed, WWE RAW and even SmackDown have gone down in TV ratings. This is for a variety of reasons. The programming has been off for many fans, and it has started to turn people away. On top of this, WWE now has stiff competition to face on both Monday and Thursday nights, with big new programs coming back for the Fall. On top of this, they face off with football on both nights, which only makes problems worse.
This has forced WWE to not only change up some of what they planned for later this year but also push up major programs in hopes of bringing in some much-needed attention to the shows each week. According to the Daily Wrestling News, WWE is scrambling to try different things out in hopes that they can improve ratings very soon. WWE is said to be in panic mode right now, which is one of the major reasons WWE is bringing Brock Lesnar back to TV so soon.
Normally, Lesnar leaves and comes back at major events, but WWE is instead bringing both he and Undertaker back early to continue their program. The “Go to Hell Tour” with Lesnar is set to help ratings and WWE Network numbers. Lesnar is going to appear on the Stone Cold Podcast soon. This is after Paul Heyman was on and teased a potential match with Austin and Lesnar.
On top of this, WWE will consider using the McMahon Family more. They are normally guaranteed ratings. This could lead WWE Chairman Vince McMahon to come out a few times, even though he isn’t a fan of the idea any longer. Triple H may also wrestle soon to help drive ratings up. It is possibly an angle WWE will do soon, due to the fact that there is a chance that they will move the Seth Rollins face turn up a bit.
Triple H vs. Seth Rollins has been in tentative plans for months now. Triple H has been trying to hold it off a bit, but with WWE changing things up now, we very well could see Rollins turn face once The Authority screws him out of his WWE World Heavyweight Title.
There have been discussions about Seth Rollins and his current drawing power in WWE. While that very well could be an issue, Rollins’ supporters believe he is simply being overexposed. It is the same issue that hurt John Cena so many times earlier in his career. Seth Rollins puts on quality matches, but if a person is seen too much, fans get annoyed with the lack of something new and shiny.
All of this being said, WWE is going to potentially pull out some surprises and major events to hopefully increase ratings. This is the main reason they pushed up the Paige heel turn and why Bayley is set to come up quicker than expected. This, on top of the fact that they brought people like Chris Jericho back. We can expect more coming soon.
