What You Need To Know About ‘Ladies Of London’ Marissa Hermer’s Restaurant Bumpkin

If you watch Ladies of London, by this second season, it almost seems like Marissa Hermer’s restaurant, Bumpkin, is yet another character. We see the cozy restaurant that Hermer owns and runs with her husband, Matt, but other than finding out it was a great spot for a Thanksgiving feast, what do we know about this Ladies of London location?

As reported in the Inquisitr, Bumpkin was the scene of the ex-pat Thanksgiving dinner thrown by Marissa Hermer for her friends and family. It was originally supposed to also be a birthday dinner for Ladies of London cast mate Juliet Angus, but she took what she perceived to be a better offer, and attended a dinner at Caroline Stanbury’s home.

First, Bumpkin has three locations around London. There is a Chelsea, Notting Hill, and South Kensington location, each with their own vibe. Though Marissa Hermer seems like a sweet, easy-going mum, she was and is a hardcore business woman and restaurateur, with her own background in the the industry before she ever landed in the U.K.

Travel and Leisure wrote a piece about Hermer’s local haunts, and how could she not mention Bumpkin and give praise to their Sunday roast?

“Bumpkin’s cozy atmosphere makes it a great spot for a date night or a casual gathering of friends. I love our new Bumpkin Chelsea Garden for year-round al fresco breakfast from our cold-pressed juice menu, but as a die-hard Anglophile, our British Sunday Roast tops the list. Roast Beef, creamy cauliflower, cheese, local roasted root veg, and Yorkshire pudding done to perfection with gravy ALL over.”

Tattler joined in and gave the Bumpkin Chelsea summer party a mention in the pages of their lush magazine.

“A thoroughly English summer garden party to celebrate the first birthday of Bumpkin Chelsea. Hosts Matt and Marissa Hermer invited everyone to the Chelsea Gardener, next to the restaurant, to party among the seedlings and the flowers. Marissa’s Ladies of London cast mates Annabelle Neilson and Noelle Reno were among those who wore their brightest, prettiest outfits and who played giant Connect Four while sipping glasses of Nyetimber and eating a buffet of barbecue food. Delightful!”

While Bumpkin is an English restaurant, it is impossible not to feel Marissa Hermer’s American influence in every touch.
