‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 12 Premiere — What We Learned From Photos From The Set
With Season 12 of Grey’s Anatomy set to premiere in a week’s time, fans will be excited to learn that producers have officially released photos from the new season. The images, which were posted online by Entertainment Weekly, offer a glimpse at what fans can expect at Grey Sloan Memorial in the upcoming season.
With the doctors each facing their own set of challenges following a traumatic and drama-filled Season 11, the photos indicate that some characters, including Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) and Maggie (Kelly McCreary), will be adjusting to the new situations in the early part of the season. This is seen by the pic of Maggie enjoying a treat in what appears to be her new home.
Additionally, one image shows that Bailey’s (Chandra Wilson) attempt to be the next Chief will not be met without resistance from a new character, played by Joey Lauren Adams. How this ends up resolving will be one interesting storyline to follow in the new season.
At the same time, one of the photos features the brand new cadaver lab the doctors will be working in, and another hints that Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) will be mingling with new romantic interests.
Meanwhile, one character that is definitely going through major adjustments is Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), whose life was turned upside last season following the death of her husband, Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) in Season 11 of Grey‘s Anatomy. The image of Meredith shows her flipping on some light switches at work, which means at the very least she is back at work.
This is a good sign for Meredith, who will be dealing with changes both in her personal and professional lives when the show returns. As far as her professional life is concerned, it will be interesting to see if Meredith is able to return to work and remain one of the top doctors in her field, or if Derek’s death proves to be too much for her to handle.
In regards to her personal life, Meredith will now be forced with the prospect of raising her own children without Derek around to help. Additionally, according to Carter Matt, Meredith is set to welcome two new housemates in the coming season in Amelia and Maggie. How will these three adjust to living together after everything that’s happened in the past?
