‘Batman V Superman’ Villain Micheal Shannon Continues To Toy With Fans About General Zod’s Comeback

Despite multiple leaks and rumors, Micheal Shannon continues to tease fans about his role as General Zod in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice film. Although Superman clearly killed General Zod at the end of Man of Steel, the character does have at least a cameo appearance in the new movie. Beyond this, how big of a role will General Zod play in the upcoming movie?

A few weeks ago, Shannon stirred up fans after posting a story on social media about being trapped in a bathroom on set. Apparently, he couldn’t get out because he was wearing a pair of flipper prosthetics on his hands. This leak caused fans to speculate on why exactly Zod had flippers instead of hands. Now, in an interview with MTV News, the actor has officially debunked his own story and added another.

“I can’t, I’m not gonna do it again… How about something about something else. Elvis has flippers. I was confused. It wasn’t Zod, it was Elvis.”

Although flippers are now out of the question, Shannon went on to demonstrate just how he might use said appendages to trap Superman. “Come here, Superman, come here. I got you now,” Shannon said while waving his hand around.

Despite all the attention that Shannon’s story received online, the actor revealed that it didn’t get him into any trouble with director Zack Snyder. “Most people don’t know how much Zack swears, he swears a lot,” Shannon explained. “No, Zack has a good sense of humor. I think that’s why we got along.”

Although he might be willing to put out false stories about his part in Batman v Superman, theories abound as to what General Zod may be doing in the film. Flippers aside, it is possible that General Zod’s body is being used by Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) for some weird experiments.

If this is the case, as some fans have pointed out, then General Zod might be brought back to life as another villain entirely, including Doomsday. However, this is all speculation at this point, and with Shannon throwing everyone off the trail, it will be hard to determine what Zod’s role will be until the film hits theaters.

While everyone waits to hear more fake spoilers from Shannon, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to premiere in theaters everywhere on March 25, 2016.
