PlayStation 4 Reveals: Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Prologue, Plus More PS4 And VR Titles


PlayStation 4 received a healthy list of new titles during the Tokyo Game Show 2015 press conference today, with Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 at Square Enix’ forefront, Metro UK reports.

To start of the Tokyo Game Show 2015 off good, Square Enix released a couple of PlayStation titles to look forward to this coming months. Starting off their lineup is the new collection of Kingdom Hearts titles, the Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. The Kingdom Hearts package for PlayStation 4 contains three exciting exclusives: Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD, Kingdom Hearts? Back Cover, and Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth By Sleep – A Fragmentary Passage.

Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD is an HD remaster of a previous Nintendo 3DS game, the 7th in the installment of the bestselling Kingdom Hearts series, released in March, 2012. Kingdom Hearts? Back Cover is an exclusive movie that will tell the story of the Foretellers, making sense of the series’ earliest histories and connecting the franchise to the upcoming mobile game, Kingdom Hearts Unchained X. Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth By Sleep – A Fragmentary Passage is a playable episode that takes place after the cliffhanger story of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep for PSP. Played from the perspective of female protagonist Aqua, A Fragmentary Passage will link the story to the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Apart from Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8, Square Enix also revealed at the Tokyo Games Show a couple of other titles for different PlayStation platforms, such as the crossover game World Of Final Fantasy, Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness, and the SaGa Scarlet Grace for PS Vita. It is also confirmed that Dragon Quest Heroes will be getting a sequel, alongside Dragon Quest Builders, which will come out January in Japan.

Other noteworthy titles announced at the Tokyo Game show are Yakuza 6, which will be coming out late next year, a 3D version of The King Of Fighters XIV, anime tie-up One Piece: Burning Blood from Bandai Namco, and several Japanese specific titles, Romance of the The Three Kingdoms XIII by Koei Tecmo and Toukiden 2. Not all of these titles announced the Tokyo Game Show, though, are confirmed to have a US and UK port.

Apart from these PlayStation–specific titles, Sony has announced that PlayStation 4’s VR gear is finally coming to the market next year, not as Project Morpheus anymore but as its new name, PlayStation VR. Some of the most exciting demo games for the PlayStation VR that were showcased at the Tokyo Game Show are multiplayer mech game RIGS by Killzone developer Guerrilla Games, London Heist by Getaway developer Sony London Studio, and a beautiful diving game called The Deep.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue is expected to be available for PlayStation 4 in 2016.
