‘Fifty Shades Darker’ Star Dakota Johnson Poses Topless, Reveals She Has ‘Crippling Self-Doubt’

From her role as Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades of Grey to rounds of late night talk shows and interviews, Dakota Johnson has launched into the spotlight in the past year. In light of her recent success, Johnson sat down with AnOther Magazine where, along with posing topless for the cover shots, she revealed what it was like growing up and shared some of the insecurities she deals with as an actress.

Johnson, the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, described her childhood as a time of constant moving.

“I feel like I grew up in the circus,” she stated. “I know planes, trains and automobiles. And really talented, weird people.”

Johnson added that her parents took her everywhere they went, which made for a less than normal upbringing.

“I’d go absolutely everywhere with them,” she revealed. “It was the only way that I could be with them. And since they were divorced I would spend two weeks with one and two weeks with the other, traveling with a tutor.”

Along with the interview, Johnson also posed topless for one of the magazine’s cover images. The semi-nude photo features a black and white cover shot of her topless, with nothing but her hands for cover. Other photos of the Fifty Shades of Grey star include one of her topless wearing a denim outfit.

Meanwhile, Johnson also discussed some of her own insecurities that she still struggles with as an actress. Although she has managed to launch a successful career in the acting world, she revealed that auditions are still a source of anxiety for her.

“Sometimes I panic to the point where I don’t know what I’m thinking or doing. I have a full anxiety attack. I have them all the time anyway, but with auditioning it’s bad,” she revealed in the interview.

Johnson also revealed that she was completely frightened by her latest project, Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria.

“I’m so terrified of it. I have crippling self doubt!” she revealed about the upcoming movie, adding, “But the things I’m the most afraid of, I run towards.”

In addition to reprising her role as Anastasia in both Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, Johnson is set to appear in the upcoming film, Black Mass. Johnson plays the girlfriend of mob boss Whitey Bulger (Johnny Depp) in the movie, which is set to premiere in theaters on September 18.
