‘iZombie’ Star Rose McIver Says ‘David Anders Is The Best Villain Ever’ [Video]
Season 2 of iZombie will soon be on its way, but, in the meantime, fans have been left with some fairly troublesome questions from that first season cliffhanger. Liv Moore, played by Rose McIver, is iZombie‘s undead heroine, but she didn’t seem very heroic to her family and friends at the close of the iZombie season finale. Of course, we know why Liv couldn’t donate the blood needed to save her little brother’s life, but her family doesn’t know and, as Comicbook points out, that may lead to McIver’s character coming out as a zombie to her family.
“When we got the finale, I just remember all of us cast sitting around page-turning as quickly as possible and just in shock,” iZombie‘s Rose McIver said. “When I finished, I just ran to the writers and said, ‘Okay, so what happens in Season Two?’ And they were like, ‘Hang on, we haven’t even been renewed yet,’ but I was like ‘Okay, but I need to know!'”

McIver continued to explain.
“We pick up a few months later and so decisions have been made. Lives have been lost or lived through, and so it’s going to be…Liv’s world have changed a lot,” said the iZombie actress. “A lot of people who mattered to her in her life know, and whether they accept her or don’t accept her is going to really shift a lot of the dynamics for Season Two.”
Rose was asked about Blaine, played so well by iZombie‘s David Anders, and Ms. McIver admits that she admires Anders’ ability to play evil so well.
“David Anders is the best villain ever. I start to worry about why he’s cast, always, as a villain. I’m like, ‘Are you a fundamentally bad person, Anders?’ And he says yes, so…”
McIver also says that he brings so much to his performances that she’s happy he’ll be returning for the second season of iZombie.

“He’s brilliant. He’s one of my favorite actors that I’ve worked with. We have a lot of fun. He does something different each time, which is refreshing. It’s like he brings an idea and then he plays, and he’s got a kind of commitment and power in his delivery, that I’m very glad is playing our villain.” Speaking of Blaine, Fashion N’ Style revealed that the transformation of David Anders’ character on iZombie will be as much physical as it is biological. Anders tweeted an image of himself looking much more reserved and more human on the iZombie set.
