Sonja Morgan On Heather Thomson’s ‘RHONY’ Exit And Supporting Kristen Taekman
Sonja Morgan admits that she should have kept her mouth shut when it came to a co-star’s marital scandal. In an interview with OK! Magazine, posted on Friday, Sonja said that contrary what her earlier comments may make it seem, she actually supports her The Real Housewives of New York City co-star Kristen Taekman when it comes to the revelation that her husband, Josh Taekman, had an account on the marital cheating site Ashley Madison. Sonja also talked about Heather Thomson’s decision to leave the reality TV show after three seasons.
Sonja told OK! that she just had to “put [her] foot in her mouth” when asked about Josh admitting that he had an Ashley Madison account. Sonja added that she has Kristen’s back. “I’m there for her,” Sonja said.
In late August, Page Six asked Sonja to comment on the scandal that was engulfing Josh and Kristen. After initially denying that he had an account on Ashley Madison or even knew what the site was, after his name and address were shown to be on a leaked list of Ashley Madison account holders, Josh admitted that he did have an account on the website. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Josh said that he signed up for the site with some friends as a joke.
Sonja told Page Six that she could see Josh’s cheating coming and that Kristen refused her help.
“I could see it coming. I didn’t like the way he was treating her. He chipped away at her self-esteem… I was trying to empower her. She didn’t take my advice.”
Sonja later told NBC New York that she didn’t intend for her comment, which she made to someone during a magazine shoot, to be made public.
“I was just saying what everyone was saying, that they weren’t surprised. But I would never get in her business like that, normally. I didn’t mean for that to happen.”
She also admitted that she has yet to apologize to Kristen.
“I probably should do that, I should text her. I know she knows I’m here if she wants to talk, but I don’t tend to stick my nose in other people’s business – though they do that to me!”
Perhaps Sonja Morgan, who blew up at Kristen Taekman at the end of The Real Housewives of New York City Season 7 for questioning the progress of her toaster oven business when asked for an opinion by a media member, has apologized to Kristen by now?
During her OK! interview, Sonja also talked about the departure of Kristen’s good friend, Heather, from the show. Despite the fact that they have clashed during their time together on the show, Sonja said that she’s sad to see Heather go.
“I never like to see anybody leave.”
Sonja added that she “doesn’t have anyone special in mind” that should replace Heather on the next season.
Heather Thomson, who told Us Weekly two weeks ago that Josh definitely didn’t cheat on Kristen, confirmed her departure from the show last week. Heather told Entertainment Tonight that she decided to leave the show in order to concentrate on her family and business.
“The reality of it [is] that I just can’t do it anymore. I have to focus on the things that are really, really important in my life, and that’s my family and my business. While I’m filming the show, I also am running a multi-million dollar business, and it takes away a lot of my time from the company.”
Sonja Morgan spoke to OK! during her New York Fashion Week show last Thursday. It’s not clear whether Kristen Taekman, Heather Thomson, or any of Sonja’s other The Real Housewives of New York City co-stars attended the show in support of Sonja.
